Story: Mated to the Kings
“How old are you?” she asks.
“How old are you?” I ask, narrowing my eyes at her.
“Nineteen,” she says sheepishly as she peeks up at me through her eyelashes.
“I don’t know how to take that,” I chuckle. “I’m thirty-three.”
“An older man,” she grins. “I do have a thing for older men. I guess you could say I have kind of a daddy kink,” she winks and giggles softly.
“You are just full of sass, aren’t you?” I ask, and she grins. Her face drops suddenly, the light fading from her eyes. She moves away quickly when the door swings open. So intuitive, my little spitfire girl is. It is no wonder she has survived. Zypher and Morwen come in and look giddy.
“Are you ready to see your little sister? What was your name again? Volleyball? Vol… Ah, who cares?” Zypher laughs as he comes over to me.
“I don’t think you understand what she is capable of,” I say simply.
“Oh… I know exactly what she’s capable of. She can take a cock better than any whore I’ve ever fucked,” he grins, licking his lips and thrusting his hips into the air. I shake my head in disgust.
“Your funeral,” I shrug. “Even if you get ahold of her, she will still kill you.”
“I’d love to see that little bitch try,” Morwen laughs.
“Did our mom fight you when you raped and killed her? Did you get mad when she wouldn’t give up her newborn?” I ask, and Morwen narrows his eyes at me.
“Who is your mother?” he asks.
“Go fuck yourself,” I spit at his feet. Morwen turns and spins, pulling a pistol from his holster.
“Woah. Stop,” I say when he puts it to Kira’s head.
“Who is your mother?” He repeats again, slower, as if I had a comprehension problem. I don’t; I just don’t like assholes, but this isn’t worth losing Kira over.
“Ashara Deverell,” I say, and he lowers the gun.
“I remember her,” he says, a demented smile twisting his lips. “She’s the one who bled like a stuck pig, right?”
“That’s what happens when you fuck a bitch who just had a baby,” Zypher cackles. “Let’s get ready to give Lilith a proper greeting, huh?”
“I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she finds out Fermin is the one who sold her out,” Morwen says as they walk away.
“How are you so confident that she will be able to kill him?” Kira asks.
“She’s basically the most powerful witch,” I say. “She could take down everything if she wanted to… but she’s still just learning to get the hang of things.”
“So… He’s a dead man walking?” she asks.
“Oh, his heart stopped the moment he met her,” I say, staring at the door that Zypher left out of.
Chapter Thirty Five
Lilith
Wecameacrossacouple more groups of fox shifters as we made our way towards the warehouse. They all told us the same thing. A man that looks like me and Striker snuck into the warehouse and freed everyone, getting captured in the process. What was he thinking? We had a plan.
Thuly is getting more antsy as we get closer, so I send him ahead with the rest of the group. The guys follow me as we head to the back entrance. There is no time for words, no time for kisses to calm me down. This is it. We wait until we hear the main door slide open and the group go in and chaos ensues before I slowly open the door and we slip in. The group has been working quickly to unhook everyone. There are only a few dead shifters in the room, theirs, but otherwise clear.
“This was too easy,” I say. Thuly hops over to a body and starts chewing on it like it’s a turkey leg. “I’m going to go find Fermin.”
“Okay,” Daemon says, stealing a kiss from me.
