Story: Mate to the Alpha Predator
Amidst the commotion, Ismena managed to pull herself up from the floor. Just as she began to strengthen, a ring fell on her feet that had her freezing for a few seconds as she stared at it.
At first glance, the ring isn't looking like a normal piece of jewelry. It was beautiful, gold-colored andsparkling.
Damn, it's sparkle entralled her. The world before her fell away, the sounds drowning out, she suddenly felt alone in the soundless world with this piece of jewelry glaring at her and begging to be taken.
So, she bent, picked it up and slipped it into the pad of her bra. She's going to pawn it and buy her medical bills! Serves her useless attacker right.
Thud!! The loud sound sent reality crashing through her, and had her looking up just in time to see her rescuer throw Not-so-lanky towards the toilet seat. He fell on top of Lanky, knocking the breath away from the already fallen man.
The both of them passed out cold. Silence descended.
Then, Rescuer turned and glared at her.
"Oops!" She shrank away from him. The man isnothappy for being her knight in shining armor, in fact, he looks like he wants to beat her up too.
"I do not want to be here." Words gritted out through white set of teeth.
"Hey, don't let me keep you, " Shit, her words are slurred. Why is it slurred?
"Thank you so much for saving my life."
"Stay out of trouble." He ordered, "With a face and body like that, you should try to stay out of trouble, female."
"Yes, my personal Lord and Savior." She slurred and did a complete upper-body bow to him. "I will be sure to remember when you go back to your paradise."
Head raised, she glanced at his face... and cringed. Definitely not impressed.
Hell, does the man have a sense of humor at all? That face is wearing the blackest scowl she has ever seen in her life. She gagged. "Uhm, I think I'm gonna throw up."
He turned towards the door and began walking out of it.
She whirled around with the intentions of going to the sink and depositing her margaritas down there, but she took a step forward and her right leg twisted.
"Ouch!" She fell hard on the floor and grabbed her ankles, "I've twisted my ankle! I've twisted my ankle! Hurts like the devil's balls! Shit!" Her shriek filled the bathroom.
Rescuer turned and fixed her with that killer glare again. He said nothing. Did nothing.
Just crossed his arms and watched her shrieking, and cradling her poor leg. Wicked rescuer.
She gagged again. And again.
The next one, she threw her head to her left and puked all over the place. Sounds of retching and gagging in the air.
Ismena jerked when she felt a strong hand touch her back, she didn't bother to turn to know the owner of it.
"Take it easy. The more you force the drink to stay down, the more it will be burning through your chest. Calm yourself and let it happen." The familiar deep voice instructed.
Ismena had no other choice at that point because the more she retched the more her chest is beginning to hurt, so she closed her eyes and did what he asked.
Few minutes later, she's looking better again to glace at him. "Thank you so much for—"
Rescuer took his arm back, got up, and faced the door again.
Impulsively, she grabbed hold of his suit, "Please don't leave. I think I've been drugged, I'm feeling more drunk by the minute."
"That has nothing to do with me, Female." his calm but irritated voice snapped.
"Help me please, don't let me be alone, please," she tightened her fingers on his suit. The man hates hers—obviously—but he's her best shot in getting out of here unharmed. "You can't just leave me here like this, another awful thing might happen to me. I might even get murdered, then, my blood will be on your conscience—"
