“Something like that. Though I would like to believe eventually we would have come together in some way.”
“I mean, maybe.” she shrugs. “I tried last year, but?—”
“But we both know why that was not a good option. But you do know that you’re the one for me, right? You do know that you’re my soulmate and I’ll love you forever.”
“I know because I love you forever, too. You know what I was thinking?” she says, tilting her head to the side, a glint in her eyes.
“No, what?”
“Well, I was thinking that perhaps we could maybe have a party?”
“Okay, I guess.”
“And you could invite all the nice, handsome single men that you know.”
“Where are you going with this?” I ask her suspiciously.
“And then, we have Erica come over and see?—”
“Nope.” I shake my head. “Not gonna happen.”
“What youmean?”
“I mean, I don’t have any nice single friends, that I think would be good for Erica.”
“You don’t have any nice single, good looking friends?” She rolls her eyes. “Really? I mean, I’ve met some of them already.”
“You have?” I glare at her. “Who’d you consider to be good looking?”
“Well, if I told you that--” she winks.
“Sabrina Filmore, you tell me right now, which one of my friends do you consider to be good looking?”
“Why are you gonna stop being friends with them?”
“Maybe.” I chuckle. “Or maybe I just won’t invite them over ever again.”
“Oh my gosh, stop being such an idiot, Wes Carrington.”
I stare at her for a couple of moments. “Look, I love my friends. I think they’re great. But I don’t know that any of them are good enough for Erica. She needs a decent guy. She needs someone that is not super experienced, is not gonna try and—” I pause.
“Try and what?” Sabrina says, glancing at me with an innocent expression.
“You know.” I say, staring at her blanking. Not wanting to get myself into trouble again.
“No, tell me you don’t want them trying to do what?”
“I don’t want them trying to bed my little sister. There are a lot of men out there who are only interested in—” I sigh. “Do we have to talk about this right now?”
“I guess not.” Sabrina says, shaking her head. “But I would like to help Erica find someone. I know she wants to be in love just as much as I do.”
“Yeah. Well, when the time is right, it will happen. I mean, next thing you’re gonna say, you want to hook up Miles as well.”
Sabrina just stares at me. “I feel like he’s gonna be a bachelor for life.” she says lightly, and then shakes her head. “Anyway, get out of here. I need to work.”
“But I don’t want you to work. You’ve been working for the last couple of hours.”
“That’s why it’s called work. And you want to listen to this episode soon, right?”
