Page 39 of Twice Bitten (Love, Lust & Magic #1)
The sound of police sirens rang out in the distance as the bloodied and Pruitt escorted Griff to the parking lot.
“You sure you’re okay?” a concerned Pruitt placed his hand on Griff’s shoulder.
Still nowhere near able to process the events that just unfolded, Griff idly nodded. “I-I’m fine. Physically, anyway,” he murmured. “It looks like you guys are the ones who took the beating.”
“Cops! Scatter!” came a voice from the far side of the building.
“You’re right,” said Pruitt as he examined his shredded shirt. “Guess we kind of look, uh?—”
“Suspicious?” asked as he pulled off his jacket. Dusting it off, he placed it around Griff’s shoulders before pulling his tank top off and tossing it into the nearby alley.
“Good call,” replied Pruitt as he pulled off his own shirt and discarded it.
“Well, I can’t argue with that,” Griff said half-heartedly, the visuals of both men’s shredded figures sending a tickle up and down his whole body.
“I’m sure you can’t,” shot back. “Now we match you,” he added, flicking Griff’s closest nipple.
“Let’s get out of here,” Pruitt said as he looked to . ?And fast.?
nodded. “Your place is close.”
“You know the way?” Pruitt asked.
“Sure do,” replied . “Pipsqueak can ride on my bike.”
?You think he’s gonna like that?? Pruitt rolled his eyes.
?Duh. Chicks dig my bike. I mean, uh, twinks dig my bike—I think.? “Griff, hop on,” said as he straddled his motorcycle and patted its pillion.
Hesitant at first, Griff turned to Pruitt. “All I gotta say is hold on,” Pruitt said with a wink. “I’ll be right behind you.”
Pulling his leg over the bike and moving his body against ’s back, Griff nervously slid his hands under the vampire’s biceps and braced them against his furry chest.
“You’ll have to forgive me for anyone else’s blood that might be on me,” said with a snicker as he started up his ride and pulled out of the parking lot. “Just don’t let go.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice,” Griff said as his hold around tightened exponentially.
Cute , thought to himself as he navigated around a scattering crowd in the streets.
“Never been on a motorcycle before?” asked as he searched for a conversation topic that wasn’t as awkward as the one he knew they were about to have back at Pruitt’s apartment.
“N-no,” Griff replied.
“Well, rule number one to a safe and uneventful motorcycle ride is to not admit you’re a newbie,” said as he revved the engine.
“ What!? ”
“Kidding,” said as he looked back at his nervous passenger. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”
