“Let’s get the evening started then, shall we?” Uriah led Pruitt and into the back lounge of Witch’s Brew, a dimly lit and crowded space with a modern pop rock soundtrack and a college crowd. It was the same bar that the vampire and werewolf fought at the night they met , but it appeared that any damage they caused had been fixed. “I saved a spot for you both up front and there’s a complementary tab with my name on it, if you’re interested.”

looked to Pruitt as though to gauge his thoughts.

“Uh, how about we get settled in our seats and go from there?” Pruitt asked the two.

Nodding, Uriah held out his arm to guide ahead of him and to a half-circle booth on the far left of the lounge’s stage.

“Compelling the bouncer right in front of him, huh?” Pruitt whispered into the vampire’s ear as he squeezed his shoulder. “And in the bar we just got kicked out of over you doing the same thing.”

“Oh, come on,” Uriah chuckled playfully, keeping his voice low. “Loosen up and enjoy your date.”

Pruitt couldn’t help but to raise his voice. “Wait, date!? ”

“Huh?” both Uriah and simultaneously asked as they looked back at him. Uriah threw in an acknowledging wink.

“N-nothing,” Pruitt replied quickly.

“I’m fine with water for now,” said as he took a seat.

“Yeah?” Uriah asked. “Excuse me and jock star for just a minute and we’ll get that for you, little guy.”

Uriah waited until Pruitt reluctantly followed him before making his way to the bar.

“You’d think these two would be all over each other based on how they interact,” mused as he looked on.
