Page 94 of Trapped With You
My dark prince had the most sensual gleam in his blue eyes, the strands of his hair were mussed by the summer wind, and sweat rivulets cascaded down his muscular, tattooed body. I wanted to lick him and taste the salt on my tongue. And under the pull of the bright moonlight, I wanted to hear him murmur how much he adored me in that gravelly voice as our bodies made love.
“You’ve got me wrapped around your finger.” He sounded tortured and raptured all at once, pressing fervent kisses and love bites all over my skin. Every line in his body shook with his impending release. He looked like a beautiful wolf, fighting that place between half man and half animal, succumbing to his mate’s need. “I’d do anything for you,mo chuisle. You’re my beginning, my middle, my end.”
My heart lurched in my chest.
Cade Killian Remington had branded himself so deep inside of me, we were one heart, one soul, one being.
He straightened me so I sat upright in his lap and wrapped his arms around my body like I was a treasure to be safeguarded, finishing inside of me with a few more thrusts. We came together in a choir of salacious sounds.
“I love you,” I panted, our mouths alternating between kissing and simply breathing each other in. “So much.”
“You’re my world,” Cade confessed, kissing my eyelids…andhalting at the right one. “You’re my favourite shade of brown and blue, Ella.”
He was right with this earlier statement. A part of me would die without him.
Our existences were intertwined.
There was no Ella without Cade.
There was no him without me.
With our limbs intertwined, our hearts singing in unison, and the wind curling around our bodies, cooling our unwavering fire to a lulling, sated flame, Cade mumbled against my lips, “I bought you a little something.”
I sifted my fingers through his hair, inciting a full-body shiver to course through him. I loved his reaction to my touch. “You’ve already given me so much tonight, querido.”
“Then allow me to give you one more gift.” Without letting go of me, he reached for his leather jacket, still hanging on the motorcycle’s handlebars, and pulled out something from its pocket. Between us, he brought a small velvet box. “Here. Open it.”
My throat tightened with emotions. “If it’s an engagement ring, I hope you know I’m dragging you to Vegas.”
He didn’t know it yet, but I’d taken my favourite white leather jacket and bedazzled the back with pearls, gemstones, and the wordsMrs. Cade Killian Remington. I was going to wear it when we inevitably exchanged wedding vows. Although we were young, our destiny was already written in the stars. This was the man I’d marry. Someday we’d start a family and grow old together. And even after death, he would still be mine.
“In a hurry to marry me, baby?” he teased.
“What if I am? I want every woman on this planet to know you belong to me.”
“I like you possessive, pretty girl.” He dragged a finger down the column of my neck, before placing a kiss in the hollow at thebase of my throat. “But I’ve got the tattoos and the promise ring on my finger to prove I’m yours. We’re a sure thing, Ella. You don’t have to worry about anyone else.”
Hearing the reassurance turned my insides to mush.
Holding my breath, my fingers gingerly open the velvet box.
A small heart-shaped blue aquamarine sat nestled in a gold chain, the gemstone winking under the moonlit night. It was of the most beautiful things—besides the man holding me in his arms—that I’d ever seen. I was at a loss for words.
“Do you like it?” Cade hedged, sensing my silence for something else entirely.
Awestruck, I murmured, “It’s stunning, Cade.”
He smiled. “I had it made for you. It reminded me of the blue in your right eye.”
“Oh.” I nearly sobbed, overcome by a multitude of feelings, all of them stitched from the love this man harboured for me. Unable to fully express myself, I kissed him instead. “Please, put it on me.”
He fastened the clasp around my neck. The gold chain and gemstone felt cold and foreign for a few seconds before my flesh warmed up to the jewelry. Becoming one with it. As though it had always belonged there.
I already possessed his heart, but now he’d gifted me the tangible depiction of it, asking me, in his own vulnerable way, to protect it forever in the depths of my soul.
“You have my heart, Ella. It’s yours.” His eyes gleamed with reverence as he swept his thumb over the pulse in my neck. “Don’t ever take it off.”
“I won’t,” I swore. “I’ll never part ways with it.”
