Page 83 of Trapped With You
“You good?”
I smiled and turned to Cade, finding his tall figure huddled against the side of the warehouse. His mask was back in place and he held a baseball bat, the one withE + Ccarved on the barrel.
“I’m good.” I was practically vibrating with reckless energy. “Is everything set?”
After the mind-numbing orgasms, Cade cleaned us up and kissed me before going into the warehouse to check out all the equipment. Guns, knives, and enough petrol to light the whole place on fire.
“Yeah, baby.” He threw a glance over his shoulder towards the empty road, most likely gauging Kian’s arrival. “You have the ammo on you?”
I opened my cropped leather jacket and flashed him the hidden gun and the wad of cash. “Yes.”
“Good girl.” His eyes twinkled with pride and that look melted me. “Now stay on the lookout. If there’s someone else with him, signal to me. I’m going to shoot.”
I nodded.
Kian mentioned that he was coming alone, but you could never be too sure.
Speaking of the devil, two headlights emerged from the road leading to the warehouse. Tires screeched as the car hooked right and haphazardly pulled into the parking lot.
I shielded my eyes against the brightness and cringed at the loud bass emanating from the Chevy. It was painted an ugly yellow.
Now or never, Ella.
With a deep inhale, I stepped forth from the shadows.
My heels echoed against the ground before I slowed to a stop in front of his car, highlighted by the headlights. I pasted a fake, seductive smile. It usually worked like a charm on single-minded bastards like Kian.
He rolled his window down and stuck out his head, whistling. “Good Lord. Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?”
Ew.
He dropped the lamest pick-up line and I struggled to keep my smile in place.
I think I heard Cade gagging in the background.
Tossing my hair over my shoulders, I leaned forward, bracing my palms on the hood of his car. I cocked my head and hollered over his loud music, “Why don’t you come out and I’ll tell you?”
He turned off the ignition and slid out.
Once ensuring that he was alone, I turned around to sit on the hood of his car, flirtatiously twirling a strand of my hair around my finger.
Kian came to stand in front of me while running his fingers through his slicked back sandy brown hair. I hated the cheap cologne emanating from him and the way he licked his lips like a creep as he leered at my body. It made me want to skin him alive. All in good time, though.
He winked. “All right, cutie. Tell me.”
Cutie? I was going to barf.
“It didn’t hurt a single bit,” I said teasingly and trailed a finger down his shirt. “Falling from heaven.”
But you know what will hurt? Your face once it’s broken, motherfucker.
“You’re adorable.” He chuckled then narrowed his eyes. “And you look quite familiar.”
“We met last weekend at Jared Roy’s party.”
‘Met’ was putting it lightly. This sleezy fuck put his nastyhands on my body, trying to take something from me without my permission.
“Ah, yes.” A mean grin tugged at his lips. “Though I last remember you pushing me away and calling me an asshole.”
