“No,” Kelly said. “Do you know what kind of monster Pierson was… is?”

Sam still had nightmares sometimes. As rare as it was for them to break through vampire sleep, old battles rose, and no amount of talk therapy could ease his issues of being treated like a sex toy by his first love. First loves messed with everyone. Con looked at Kelly and knew he had been toxic to Kelly too.

“I do. That’s why I plan to ensure he will never touch Sam or Seiran ever again. Even if I have to tear apart his body myself to do it.” Con would take pleasure in that, as he never did with killing. But there wasn’t much he wouldn’t do for his guys. And watching Pierson dissolve beneath the onslaught of the wind might just be enough to make him pay for everything he’d done.

THIRTEEN

Kelly ushered Seiran into the loft as Con kept Bella at a distance. One of Con’s guys had removed a lot of the artwork, even the giant dick painting. But Link examined the kitchen sink faucet, which was another dick. Con had forgotten about it, as he was used to the space and left all the design stuff for Luca. That had probably been a bad idea. But Link’s confused expression as he examined it brought Bella’s attention to it as Kelly walked Seiran around the apartment.

Con felt the buzzing of their magic, a setting of simple wards, though Rou was a master at it now. He didn’t need layers of them to keep anyone out. The fluttering of the magic at the edges of his awareness made Con’s skin crawl, but he was grateful for the protection.

“Um, let’s get ready to go,” Con said, trying to direct the kid’s attention away from the phallic faucet. Where had Luca even found that? And could Con find a plumber to change it in the next few hours?

Sam stumbled sleepily from the loft, half dazed, roused by the rolling waves of magic. “Fuck, Ronnie, what are you doing to our home?” He growled.

Sam rarely wore clothes to bed these days but must have taken precaution because of Bella’s presence as he wore a pair of jeans and nothing else. Jeans slung low, button fly with the top two open, bare feet, naked chest, hair tousled. Con breathed in a deep sigh at Sam’s beauty. Not the androgynous prettiness of Rou, as the cut of his cheekbones was sharp, and small lips divine. He’d developed muscle tone over the years. One of the few ways a vampire could change their body. They didn’t age, but they could bulk up. Sam hadn’t gone overboard, but his arm definition and six-pack abs made Con drool.

“Just adding protection, Sammie,” Seiran said.

“Send us a box of rubbers like any normal person,” Sam snarked. “Besides, I’ve tried a thousand times to get both my guys preggers. It hasn’t happened yet…”

Seiran sighed but laughed a little. “Jerk.”

“Douche. Don’t you have a hot vampire at home who should try to get you pregnant? Has he forgotten how that works?”

Seiran’s face turned red, his gaze going to the kids, who weren’t really listening to them but still examining the dick faucet. “Stop. Put your PG on. You have a kid now.”

“Right, cause raising a kid all prim and proper worked on you?” Sam sniped. “I’ve heard stories about your glory days, Rou. No wonder the big guy was after your ass. Does well-used ring a bell?”

Link and Bella were now playing with the faucet. Turning the dials, which looked like balls, off and on. “That is wild,” Link muttered.

“Weird,” Bella said.

Fuck.

“Um…” Con said, stepping into his shoes beside the door. They all practiced the no shoes in the house rule Sam preferred. “Maybe we can get going?” Con looked at Kelly, pleading. He didn’t know how to explain the faucet, or his boyfriend’s quirk of having dick art everywhere to a couple of kids. Or Sam’s snark war with Seiran.

Sam stepped in close to Con, his body cool from sleep and lack of blood, but he was still adorably sleepy. Had they been alone, Con would have taken advantage of Sam’s slow movements and sun-drained brain, waking him up slowly with kisses, but he wrapped his arms around Sam and pressed his face into his hair. He smelled good. Didn’t sweat like normal men during sleep. A perk of vampires not overheating or moving much when they dreamed. He just smelled like Sam and home. Con could cover Sam in the scent of sweat and come, but that was for a day he didn’t have a kid he had to look after.

“I’m almost done,” Seiran said, completing his loop, but staying out of the loft space. Did earth wards work in the middle of the city when they were several floors off the ground?

“You okay?” Sam asked Con.

“Yeah, you?” Con didn’t let go. The kids finally stepped away from the sink and made their way to the door to get shoes. “Maybe we can get a plumber in to change the faucet?” Either Kelly hadn’t noticed it, or it didn’t bother him. It wasn’t the most PG or even clinical of depictions. Con thought it might be painful for a dick to curve like was necessary to create the faucet head.

“What?” Sam asked, buried in Con’s embrace. He turned his head. “Oh, forgot about that. Luca is such a dick lover.” Con swallowed back the instant reply that he loved that Luca lovedtheirdicks, as there were two kids beside them now.

“This okay?” Sam asked, and Con thought he was asking him for a minute, but it was Bella he was looking at.

“Yes,” Bella agreed. “Con needs snuggles. Kat said he loves hugs.”

Con flinched, and Sam tightened his grip. Seiran and Kelly stepped up beside them. “All done,” Seiran said. “I’ve traced your signatures and added wards similar to most of the safe houses. You can lock it down, no one in or out. Do you remember how to do that?”

Con didn’t, but Sam nodded. “Yep. Don’t you have your own vampire to snuggle?”

“As if I’d snuggle you, Sammie,” Seiran said as he tugged his shoes back on. “I’ve got classes today. Even with the Dominion falling apart, kids need to learn.” His gaze landed on Bella. “These guys are good guys, okay? I know they look sort of bad guy-ish, but they take care of my kids all the time.” He pulled his wallet out of his pocket, took out a card. “Phone numbers. Mine, Kelly’s,” he pointed at Kelly, “these jerks,” he waved a hand at Con and Sam. “Call any of us if you need help.”

“I’ll need to get her a phone,” Con said.
