Page 53 of To Love You
“With Wyatt being here.” Cooper scooted toward the middle of the mattress to make room for Adam to sit down and lace up his shiny black dress shoes.
“Wyatt’s an adult,” Adam answered, brow furrowed. “I don’t need to hide what I do from him.”
“Anymore,” Cooper added.
The tips of Adam’s ears pinked.
“Has he even been out of the guest room since he got here?” he asked.
“Only to forage for food when he thinks we’re asleep,” Adam said, bending to give him another kiss. “Little does he know we’re awake and just fucking extremely quietly.”
Cooper laughed and pushed Adam away from him. “Go to work.”
“When will I see you again?”
“When you’re good.”
“Me?” Adam scoffed. “Yoube good.”
Cooper rolled his eyes, amused. “Even though my ass needs a break from your attention, I’ll talk to you later tonight.”
“Your ass?” Adam stood up and scoffed. “Big talk for someone who spent the whole weekend topping.”
“You know exactly what I meant.” Beneath the blankets, Cooper rolled onto his stomach and kicked the sheets down so Adam could get a good look at his own handiwork. Even though they’d been thwarted by Wyatt’s arrival, Adam had made good use of his hot wax, his vampire gloves, and at one point, a twisted-apart wire hanger.
Adam traced his finger over some of the sharp, raised welts left from the impromptu cane, pressing down when Cooper grimaced, which caused him to moan and hump down against the bed.
“You’re such a sadist,” he hissed, mourning the loss when Adam pulled the sheets back up to his waist.
“A sadist who is late for work.” Adam stood up and gave him a thoughtful look. “You know, I never called myself that until you.”
“You never did a lot of things before me,” he reminded.
“Fair.” Adam’s cheeks blushed red to match his ears.
“Give me a kiss and go,” Cooper demanded, and Adam obliged, licking into his mouth just enough to tease him before straightening up and heading out. He stopped in the doorway, hand on the frame and back erect. Adam looked over his shoulder, expression knit together.
“What’s wrong?” Cooper asked.
“I had a thought.”
“You have a lot of those.”
Adam rolled his eyes. “About us.”
“My comment stands.”
Adam turned to face him fully, shoving his hands into his pockets. He looked so adorable and earnest like that, Cooper wanted to make him crawl across the room for fun.
“What if we talked about moving in together?”
“W-w-what?” Cooper sputtered. It wasn’t that he hated the idea, he’d just never anticipated Adam being the one to propose it.
“Do you hate it?” Adam grimaced.
“No.” He scooted up straighter in bed. “I don’t hate it at all. I was surprised.”
“I enjoy spending time with you,” Adam said, face still pink. “I want to do it more. And I meant what I said before. I am all in with this. With you.”
