“What are you doing tonight? I thought we could watch a film, order some food in?” Ryan pushed my door open, standing there in just his jeans as his eyes fell on Mara.
“That sounds great. Mara, you don’t have any plans either tonight, so that makes three of us,” I announced as they both stared at me in dismay.
“Uh, sure,” Mara said begrudgingly.
“Cool,” Ryan mumbled as he tore his eyes away from Mara.
When he backed out of the room, Mara hit me on the armhard.
“Ow! What thefuck! You’re welcome!” I snapped.
“I’ve got to spend a night in his company now. Hehatesme. Great!”
“Hedoesn’thate you.” I sighed as I stretched. “One week till my baby is back.”
“Ugh. One week until I feel suicidal from all the perfection surrounding me,” Mara wailed.
“Stop being absurd.” I chided as she pointed at my ring.
“Theo promised youforever. I want that.”
“Words are a fine thing. It’s the actions that count. As you now know.” I winked as she colored beneath my gaze.
“Can wenottalk about it?!”
“Why?”
“I wish it had been with Ryan,” she mumbled as I rolled my eyes.
“Babe, if it had been with my brother, I reckon the entire street would’ve heard about it.” I laughed as she widened her eyes in surprise.
“What? He’s...loud?”
I paused, trying not to remember the last time he brought a girl back.
“No, but the girls have been. Not that there have been any in a while,” I added as she looked utterly miserable. “Mom banned him from bringing any home.”
We laughed then, and I checked my phone.
I couldn’t wait to update Theo on the latest developments.
He’d been quiet lately, always studying, which was unusual for him. He said the course was a lot harder than he had expected, which meant it must be beyond difficult.
My stomach ached, a reminder that my period was due within the next few days. I wanted it gone, and out of the way for Christmas, that was for sure. I typed a text to Theo, telling him I needed to tell him something when he had the time.
Something he didn’t seem to have that much of anymore, I thought sadly.

THEODORE
Ilooked at the text, my heart thumping in my rib cage.
Hannah has something to tell me?
I rubbed my tired eyes, looking at my bed, longingly. I hadn’t finished this assignment, nor did it look like I was going to unless I skipped sleeping for the next two nights. It was hard to focus or concentrate without Hannah. I was having withdrawal symptoms that were becoming too much to bear. My cock ached to fuck her, my arms yearned to hold her, and my soul ached to be beside her.
That was some corny shit right there,I thought, glaring at my laptop screen.
