It was weird; I didn’t feel pregnant most of the time. I just felt so tired.
“Come on,rest,” Theo commanded, as Ryan scowled at him from the couch.
“Aww, I can’t believe you’re having a baby! Oh, my God!” squealed Mara as I rolled my eyes in my brother’s direction.
Mara waved dismissively, winking at me.
“Uncle Ryan! So sweet.”
“Great,” Ryan muttered from the couch, and I walked over to him, resting my head onto his shoulder as he sighed.
“Do you still love me?” I pouted.
“No.” Ryan huffed, grabbing my head and embracing it softly.
I loved my big brother, but he was struggling with this. Not as bad as Zane, who I hadn’t heard from since he had socked Theo in the jaw last week.
“Gonna need Uncle Ryan, you know,” I whispered, my eyes filling with tears.
“I hear you, sis. I hear you.” Ryan chuckled, forcing a smile before he released me.
Baby steps.
Theo raised his eyebrow at me, my heart melting under his concerned expression.
“All okay?” he whispered, and I nodded, leading him up to my bedroom. I heard Mara telling Ryan how proud she was of him before littering his face with kisses.
I loved my best friend.
I wriggled out of my jeans, the buttons flying open as I gaped at my protruding stomach.
“How has it grown since this morning? My stomach has marks on from my waistband!”
I stared down at my stomach, turning to the side and gasping at the noticeable bump that was not there this morning.
Theo spun me around, pulling me towards him on the bed as he brushed his lips against the skin on my stomach softly.
“Hey in there,” he murmured with adoration. “Soy tu Papi.”
I gazed at him, my heart swelling with love as I pout.
“It’s happening, Theo. I’m getting fat.”
“You’re growing a human in there.” He breathed, pulling me onto his lap as his hand lingered on my stomach. “Eat, girl, give our baby some cushioning. Look at me.”
My heart hammered in my chest as he kissed me tenderly, his hand caressing my stomach.
“I fucking love you. You need to relax and enjoy the fact you’re gonna be a Mama to our baby.”
“I’m trying,” I whispered back, our foreheads touching as I snuggled against him.
“Try harder.”
