What is the point in this course if I couldn’t give it my all?
I guess the text tipped me over the edge.
I slammed my laptop shut, switching off the light. I fell into my bed with overwhelming tiredness paralyzing my body as my muscles relaxed. Staring at the phone, I wondered if Iwantedto know what Hannah wanted to tell me.
What if she’s met someone else?
My chest was tight like it was being squeezed.
What if it’s that prick, Edward?
Suddenly I was wide awake.
I quickly texted her back, my fingers flying over the screen.
THEO:
What’s up, baby?
My eyes closed while I waited for her reply, when the door burst open, Billy falling flat onto the floor with some chick.
I shielded my eyes from the bright light spilling in as I bolted up, annoyed to fuck he’d brought someone back here.
“Bill. I’m trying to fuckingsleep,” I snapped, as I saw the girl underneath him was no other thanSherry. I groaned as she licked her lips, scrambling out from under Billy, who sat on the floor laughing.
“Theodore,” Sherry slurred, stumbling over to my bed.
“Sherry, I’mnotin the mood—” I began as she threw herself onto my bed, attempting to curl up next to me. “What thefuckare you doing?” I snarled as she grabbed my phone, which had just lit up.
“Hello?” She breathed as I stared at her in disbelief. “He’s here, hold on.”
Sherry passed me the phone with a smirk, standing up to nudge Billy, who was comatose on the floor.
“Hello?” I barked into the phone, hearing nothing but the dial tone.
Who the fuck was that?
I searched through my call history, my stomach dropping when I looked at the caller ID.
Phillips.
“Youimbecile! Move!” I pushed past Sherry, who beamed at me as she shook her head playfully.
“You’llneversettle, Theodore. You’re made forallof us.”
I ignored her as I strode out of the room, dialing Hannah’s number.
Answer phone.
“Shit, shit, shit!” I yelled, hitting redial.
Come on...
Finally, it rang, and my spirit soared.
The tone in her voice makes my blood run cold.
“It’s two am, and some bitch is answering your phone. Just fuckoff, Theo. I should have known better than to trust you.”
