Page 52 of Theodore
Kyle remained silent.
"I love you so much," I wept as he groaned.
"Fucking hell, Hannah. We're too young for this shit."
PRESENT TIME
"Since you cheated on me. Because, in your words, youcouldn't help it. She was justsomuch better than me."
Tears sprang into my eyes, and I moved away when Kyle sighed.
"I was young.Stupid. I didn't realize what I had…Look, it's fate, seeing you here like this. You look...hot."
I turned to him, his gaze on my lips.
He smells so damn good—
"Yeah, well. I'm with someone else." I huffed as Kyle caught my hand in his, tugging me close to him.
"I heard.De Luca, right?"Kyle growled as I backed away from him.
"Ugh. Kyle, justgo," I pleaded, thrusting the key into the lock.
His arms circled me, spinning me around as he pressed his lips to mine. His tongue pushed between my lips as he pinned me to the door, grinding against me. "God, I've missed this," Kyle groaned into my mouth.
This cannot be happening.
I'm about to knee him in the balls when I heard a voice behind us.
"Fuckinghell, Phillips. You didn't even give Theo a chance to explain."
I shoved Kyle away from me to see Jax stomping away from us.
"Jax!Wait! It'snotwhat it looked like!" I ran after him as he shook his head in disbelief.
"No? Then what thefuckwas that?" He spat, his eyes wide with fury.
"No,no, it'snot- that'sKyle- he kissedme- I didn't—" I babbled, my chest tightening with every word.
"So while Theo's delivering fuckingpizzasin case he's a daddy, you're shacking up with that prick. I overestimated you."
Pizzas? What?
I grabbed Jax by the arm, but he ripped it away as though I'd burned him. The veins on his face bulged when he spoke to me through gritted teeth.
"Theocouldn'tcome to this. He has the scan to attend. He doesn't want toburdenyou, Hannah; he wants you to have fun. Not this much, though. I'm sure.”
A sob caught in my throat.
Jax's chest rose and fell, his fists clenched by his sides as he glared at me.
"Don't tell him. Let me. It's not what it looked like," I whispered.
My heart broke at the thought of Theo working nights to save money just in case he was a dad. I turned on my heel, marching back toward my room.
Jax followed me.
"I'll tell him what Isaw, and you tell him your version of events. I just hope he believesme."
