Page 49 of Their Stolen Obsession (Phantoms and Obsession Duet #2)
Her Predator
Saint
O nce the coast was clear, Liv walked ahead of us, and I loved the view. Her ass swayed back and forth in her tight black dress. The vision made me want to tackle her and take her right there, but I had to contain myself. Especially since we knew she wasn’t wearing any fucking panties.
I had got my hands on her skimpy underwear, and I hid them.
After I sniffed them, of course. I had missed the scent of her pretty pussy.
This brutal break from her cunt made my mouth water.
I could almost taste her, hear her whimper, and I wanted her sweetness wrapped around my eager tongue.
Soon I’d have what I’ve starved for—Liv’s pretty pink world willingly spread wide for me and her goddamn beautiful eyes begging me to fuck her with my face.
“Hey! You’re not supposed to be back here!” someone called out, breaking me out of my fucking fantasy.
“Go, go, go!” Sin exclaimed.
Liv took off like the wind. We ran. Fast. We were a damn kite caught up in her breeze as she bumped into an innocent bystander, and the woman stumbled on her feet.
I caught her as I set her steady, and I flew to catch up.
My wings were outstretched, strong and ready to be caught in Liv’s gusty wind current.
Liv giggled and the sound of her amusement made me grin like a crazy fool. Christ, I was a lovesick freak for our girl, but I wouldn’t change a damn thing about the way I felt about her. She rushed out of the exit, and we followed closely behind; she completely enchanted me.
Liv consumed every part of my dark heart that the devil had given to me as she had woven her way into my tortured soul and healed my blood-stained wings the angels wouldn’t take back.
She made me into the person I never thought I’d be again.
A good human. A man who wanted to be better for her, yet create chaos for anyone who dared to cross Liv.
“I can’t believe you two,” Liv panted after the danger of being caught had passed and she pushed us. “Please tell me you didn’t kill Leo and stuff him in a closet?”
I chuckled. “No. Leo got lucky. ”
“I knocked him out,” Sin admitted with a shrug.
Liv stopped. “Are you lying to me?” She put her hands on her hips.
Fuck. Liv was too goddamn cute. I wanted to swoop her up into my arms and spin her around in a circle, listening to her cheerful laughter all fucking day long.
“Why would we do that?” Sin peered down at her.
Liv tilted her head to the side. “Because you are you .”
“I pinky swear I didn’t snap Leo’s neck.” Sin held out his pinky finger.
Liv raised an eyebrow. “Or slit his throat or shoot him?”
Sin sighed. “I promise. But I wanted to.”
“Okay. I believe you.” Liv shook pinkies and half grinned. “Be careful. Your sensitive side is showing, Mr. Cruz.”
“Mine?” Sin held a hand over his heart. “Never.”
She giggled, “Liar.”
“Yeah, Sin, your fucking pants are on fire.” I chuckled.
“Fuck off.” Sin pushed me.
Sin almost shoved me into a goddamn bush beside the park, but I caught my footing.
Dick.
Suddenly, a frisbee flew at Liv, and I was too far to stop it. She gasped, frozen in shock, but Sin reacted. He caught the damn flying disk with one hand before it hit her in the face.
A German Shepard came out of nowhere, barking at Sin, its jaw drooling. Liv screamed, and I acted. I was at her side in a heartbeat, and she hid behind me. Fear shook her; she trembled like a leaf as she clung to me, and I hated seeing her terrified.
The dog wanted its toy back. The animal leaped at Sin, its mouth snapped at the toy and tried to get it back. Sin held the plastic disk up high, and he was pissed.
“Jesus, Jasper!” A man came up and pulled at the dog’s collar. “Hey, man, I’m sorry about him. He’s harmless.”
“ She doesn’t think so.” Sin snapped the frisbee in two. “You almost hit my girlfriend in the fucking head with this damn thing.”
Jasper sadly whimpered, and he lay down on the ground. Sin had destroyed his toy. The poor pup was harmless, but Sin had every right to be upset. Liv was in turmoil because of this asshole dog owner.
I glanced down at Liv. “Stay here.”
Liv gave me a curt nod, and her tortured eyes were full of terror. I turned my attention to this sorry motherfucker. He had screwed with our girl.
“Come on, man…” The college frat boy sighed in frustration and ran his hands through his hair. “What the fuck is wrong with you? That was my dog’s favorite frisbee.”
“What’s wrong with me?” Sin asked, clearly irritated.
Sin pushed up his jacket sleeves.
“Yeah…” The jerk pushed Sin and turned into a dickhead. “ You . Asshole.”
I grabbed Sin by the back of his leather jacket.
I whispered in his ear, “Cool it. Let me deal with him.”
“I want to shove what’s left of his damn frisbee in his eye sockets,” Sin warned.
I glanced around. “Not here, you won’t. Too many people are watching.”
We had gathered attention. People crowded with their whispered curiosity and some even held out their cellphones.
Goddamn it. I had always wanted to go viral, but not at Liv’s expense.
She was fragile, tormented by her demons, and she was at risk.
Her life was in danger with a Pitrone brother out there.
Sin’s nostrils flared. “Fine. At least let me deck him once.”
Frat boy whistled at Liv. “Hey, sweet cheeks? You should leave these freaks. Come home with me. ”
He grinned at her with pretty fucking teeth. His pearly whites shone in the sunlight. He even had the guts to send a playful wink in our girl’s direction.
Fuck.
I was done with his bullshit.
“Screw being Mr. Nice Guys. Change of plans.” I released Sin.
I cracked my neck, popped my knuckles and headed for fuck boy. “What did you say?”
“Hard of hearing, old man?” Frat boy rubbed his chin like he was full of himself. “I told your girl she should walk away with me.”
Motherfucker grew some balls in a matter of a goddamn minute. How cute?
“No. Before that.” My left eye twitched.
College boy with his varsity jacket had me all damn worked up.
“Huh?”
Dumb fuck had no manners. I hated kids with no respect. I despised them even more when they messed with our girl.
“No manners and an attitude.” I tsked, shaking my head and scratching it. “You called our girl something. What was it?”
I stood right in front of him. I towered over the pearly white frat boy douchebag with his stupid fucking haircut and peered down at him, containing my anger. But I could only hold the beast back for so long before I snapped.
Fucker grinned at me. “Oh, right. I called her sweet—”
Sin threw a punch right to the side of his face. In slow motion, from a goddamn movie I could watch on repeat, I saw his teeth fly out of his mouth, and he fell to the ground. The punch knocked the motherfucker out cold.
No more pristine frat boy smiles for him. Mommy would have to get Daddy to buy him some fake teeth. Good luck with the ladies, dick.
I kneeled down beside him and put a paper bill into his varsity jacket pocket. “Here’s ten bucks for the pooch. Buy Jasper a new frisbee, asshole.”
I walked away. Sin spit on the college boy and followed my lead. Liv no longer stood in fear, but our choice didn’t surprise her, and her hands flew up, only to come back down with a slap against her thighs.
“Seriously?” She crossed her arms in front of her chest. “Couldn’t you just give him the cash?”
“Nope.” Sin popped the P .
I shrugged. “Asshole called you sweet cheeks.”
“And no one calls you anything but us,” Sin added.
The dog barked at its owner. Startled, Liv jumped and grabbed our hands. Sin and I glanced at each other as we both noticed her strange behavior toward the animal. Time to go.
I whispered in Liv’s ear, “Come on, sweet cheeks. Let’s get you home.”
