The Hidden Journal of John Dee

T he past few days have been filled with a strange mix of dread and hope, tempered by the weight of what we must now face.

Edward Kelley is recovering his strength after the scrying session.

His body drained, the divine connection having tapped into his very life force.

Even though he wants to try and speak with the divine again right away, I have insisted he rest for now.

We need him to be at full strength to be able to hold the being long enough to gain the information we need from it.

Kelley mentioned something that has ignited a flicker of hope within me, though it brings with it a new layer of uncertainty.

The divine spoke to Kelley of the Nephilim , the descendants of humans and celestial beings.

These beings, according to what we gathered through his divine communion, are the key to permanently sealing the rift in time.

I cannot fathom how such a creature might exist in our world, for the Nephilim were said to have been wiped out in the Great Flood, their bloodline lost to history.

The thought both terrifies and fascinates me. If the Nephilim truly still exist, I must find one. But how? Unless Kelley can tap back into the divine again, there would be no determining where such a being might be found, no guidance on how to identify them.

As if this burden were not heavy enough, I have also begun the process of securing a building in the village near Gare Loch, where the line of this energy is said to be.

I dare not risk leaving the Astral Synchronum here in our town, where it might reopen the tear at any moment. No, it must be moved and soon.

I have made arrangements to purchase a building there, one that will serve as a permanent sanctuary for the Synchronum, where it can be sealed and protected.

The ritual will have to be done there, according to detailed instructions given to Kelley by the being.

But we cannot do it without the help of Flora, an acquaintance of Kelley.

She resides in a small village outside of Gare Loch and possesses the knowledge and power we need to bind the Synchronum permanently within the building.

There is something undeniably unsettling about seeking the help of, dare I call her a witch?

But I must admit, it is a necessary evil.

We need her abilities, her knowledge of the arcane, to ensure that the Astral Synchronum will remain sealed away.

Without her, I fear that the entire plan will fail.

Flora will be the key to completing the ritual and keeping the rift from spreading.

I can only hope that her motivations are pure, though I find it difficult to trust someone so entwined with such dangerous powers.

My thoughts return to the Nephilim. If there is any hope of repairing the tear for good, I must find one of these half-angel, half-human. The rip must be sealed, and if the Nephilim are the key to that, I will stop at nothing to find one.
