D rake looked at the radio in horror. Ramirez’s screams came through clearly. The detective had hit the all-channel button, and everyone carrying a radio knew what was happening .

“They blew themselves up! Those assholes blew the Unwanted Bastards up. The entire MC is gone, they’re dead!” Ramirez screeched. There was a tinge of hysteria in his voice.

“A Fang was wearing a bomb vest, you all gotta be warned, we just lost the whole of Unwanted Bastards!” Ramirez babbled. The radio squealed.

“This is Ben. Inglorious, Razor, and Chill are alive. The rest of the Unwanted Bastards are dead. We need support here. Please,” Ben said.

Drake swallowed a lump. Ben sounded devastated. Drake could hear the tears and horror in the cop’s voice and couldn’t help him. Rage was cleaning up their own mess.

“On our way,” Scythe answered over the radio. “The Devil’s Scythes are riding, brother.”

“There’re bodies everywhere, it’s just…” Ben trailed off.

“Hang in, Ben. Bear and Levi are coming, man,” Chance called in.

“Jason’s coming,” James Washington replied.

“Thank you,” Ben whispered as offers poured in.

Drake puffed out his cheeks to control his emotions.

“Wild, Cowboy, and Lowrider, on our way,” Wild said, snatching his radio.

Drake couldn’t reply; he was watching them load up two brothers. Both meant the fuckin’ world to Rage, and both were critical .

He watched as the helicopters flew out with his brothers on, fighting for their lives, and sighed. How the hell had it gone so wrong? He began to follow, and then the call arrived he’d been waiting for.

“We’ve got Fury.”

An hour and half ago.

Drake glanced up as a body fell in front of him. “What the fuck?” he exclaimed. A van had parked, and bodies were being thrown out of it.

Ace looked puzzled as a second and third were dumped. “Found them wandering the city. They’re Fangs,” Serenity explained, appearing from the back, dragging another.

“Shit!” Ace hissed as Drake’s stare landed on his daughter. Ace backed away as quick as he could as Drake tried not to go nuclear. It was bad enough Artemis and Irish were running around somewhere, but his baby girl was here?

His eyes narrowed as Serenity calmly held his gaze.

“I put you on a plane,” he said, the anger nearly choking him. “With your mother and brothers.”

“I got off,” Serenity replied, flicking a knife back and forth.

“You were supposed to be safe!” Drake roared.

“Fuck that. I can kill just as well as anyone, and this is my home, too!” Serenity retorted .

Drake stepped towards her, and the blade came up. He stared into her eyes and noted she was in her Street Serenity mode.

Shit! He screamed silently. Tye, Carmine, and Harley weren’t here to bring her out. And Serenity was liable to stab everyone else.

“Sweet girl, I need you to be safe,” Drake tried reasoning with her and swallowed his anger.

“I will be safer than you, Dad. You think they are not after your head? Fangs are coming for you, and they’re going to have to go through me to reach you.” Serenity grinned. “I’ve sharpened my knives.”

“Drake… why is there something shoved in his mouth?” Grunt asked, leaning closer to one of the bodies. “Is that a…? Fuck me!” Grunt yelled.

“Serenity’s party trick after she’s sliced and diced them is to cut their cocks off and shove them places,” Irish said with approval.

Drake’s eyes narrowed on Serenity. “Did you play?”

“Not as long as I would’ve liked. But I’m wondering if there’re other fuckers out there. I was gonna see if Irish wanted to come hunting,” Serenity asked.

Drake stared at his daughter and shook his head. She looked so damn sweet and innocent. Spike and Volcano’s eyes were huge as they kept looking at the blood soaking the groin areas of the Fang’s jeans.

“Your daughter did that?” Spike muttered.

“Yeah. It’s her thing,” Drake replied as he tried to figure a way of getting Serenity somewhere safe .

“Good luck,” Spike said, slapping Drake on the back and disappearing.

“Dad, don’t bother. Now I can either go hunting or stay here with you. Take your pick and do not touch me or shout at me. You won’t like the results,” Serenity stated coldly.

“If you weren’t armed, you’d be over my shoulder and locked up,” Drake snarled, giving up all pretence of cajoling Serenity.

“And you’d not sit down for a month!” Serenity retorted. “We’ve suffered enough from Fury. We’ve lived in fear and no more. Fury doesn’t get to take your life. No, Dad, no.”

Drake stared at Serenity and spotted the fear that she was hiding. His daughter was terrified, not of the war, but of losing him. His hand snaked out, and he yanked her in close. “Stick with me, baby girl. If I say run, promise me you’ll go.”

“I can’t make a commitment I might break,” Serenity replied.

Drake bit out a bitter laugh. He’d taught the kids alongside Phoe to be independent. He couldn’t complain when his daughter turned it back on him. Drake had never been prouder or more frustrated with Serenity until then. He dropped a kiss on her head.

“Remember how to shoot?” he asked.

“Yeah!”

“Stay with me,” Drake ordered, and then crouched behind a wall .

Serenity followed him as Spike, his sons, and son-in-law, all moved far away. Drake chuckled. Would do them some good to fear his daughter.

Drake watched as Fangs fell by the dozens. Ace and Fish had both taken bullets—not critical, but enough to send them both to hospital. Serenity had disappeared into a building after three Fangs, and the screams that sounded from it chilled everyone’s blood. When she came out grinning twenty minutes later, no one would meet her eyes that owned a dick. Jesus, his daughter made grown men cry.

“Axel, Ace, and Fish heading to the hospital,” Drake called in.

“What zone were you?” Axel demanded.

“Seven.”

“Wanna ensure I write on the correct board. Stay safe. Nobody has eyes on Fury yet, Prez. We’re all watching for him to make an appearance,” Axel boomed back.

“Axel, everyone’s engaged, right?” Drake asked.

“Yeah.”

“And no one’s seen Fury?”

“Nope.”

“Okay.” Drake felt puzzled.

RCPD was being hit the hardest. They’d already called for reinforcements. Drake thought that Fury was possibly in that direction, considering the number of men being thrown at the RCPD. But he hadn’t been spotted. No way would Fury miss this shit show. He’d planned it for years. Where the hell was he?

Heavy return fire caught his attention, and Drake threw himself over Serenity as bullets pinged and ricocheted off things. Hunter grunted and collapsed alongside Gauntlet.

Gauntlet took one to the side, and Hunter got a shoulder wound. Hunter rose, fighting, but Drake saw Gauntlet slump down and hold his side.

“Manny, get him out of there!” Drake bellowed as the attack lessened. Manny scarpered across, behind cover, and grabbed Gauntlet.

“Cover fire!” Drake commanded as Manny ducked into a low run and half carried, half dragged Gauntlet away.

“Hunter. Join him. Calling for an ambo,” Drake ordered.

“I can fight,” Hunter replied. “I said go with him!” Drake yelled, and Hunter hesitated and nodded.

He chased after Manny, and a minute later, Manny returned.

Fangs rounded a parked car, and Drake shouted a warning.

Spike was directly in their line of fire, and even as Rage attacked, the Fangs shot at Spike. A body crashed into him, and Spike hit the ground hard and was rolled away. The Fangs fell, and Drake crab crawled over .

Gideon lay on his back, breathing heavily as Spike berated his grandson.

“You don’t die for me, boy! I die for you!” Spike was yelling.

Drake heard a great deal of fear in his voice and checked Gideon over even as Spike kept yelling.

“He’s taken two to his back. We gotta get him out of here, Spike,” Drake said.

“He gonna live?” Spike demanded.

“Yeah, but he took a butt shot and won’t sit down for a while. The other lodged in his shoulder. Gideon’s going to be okay,” Drake replied as he and Spike dragged Gideon behind a wall.

“Gunner, come get him,” Drake ordered.

Gunner appeared and hauled Gideon over his shoulder and disappeared.

“Am I needed?” Klutz yelled.

“No. He’ll survive!” Drake called back.

“There’s about twenty Fangs left,” Grey said, popping up.

Drake eyed his prospect, the only one who was here. He’d managed to force all the others to stay away, but Grey had disobeyed him. Willow had stayed with the Feds, so Grey had remained too.

“Can we get them?” Drake asked, and Grey smirked.

“They’ll never see us coming, and we’ll get behind them,” Grey replied.

“Take Jett, Apache, Texas, Rock, Volcano, and Lowrider and circle them,” Drake demanded .

Grey nodded and crept away. He gathered the brothers, and Drake watched them go.

“Hit them with everything you’ve got for a minute,” Drake ordered those left.

Rage opened fire, and the Fangs retaliated. They were so intent on hitting those in front of them that Grey’s plan worked.

“Stop firing!” Rock bellowed, and Rage put up their guns. “We got them all!”

“Nice!” Drake exclaimed. He slid down to rest against a car and leaned his head back. Serenity sat next to him but kept her distance. Drake knew better than to touch her while she was like this.

“No offence, Dad? You stink,” she stated, and Drake began to laugh.

“Kid, you ain’t too sweet yourself,” Drake commented.

“That’s rather rude,” Serenity replied.

“Will you go home now?” Drake asked.

“There’s cleanup to do,” Serenity drawled with a wicked gleam in her eye.

“You know, girl, I pity your husband,” Drake teased.

“Who said I’m having one?” Serenity got up to grab a bottle of water. “He’s gonna be my bitch.”

“Gotta pity that man,” Cowboy muttered, shaking his head.

“Yeah,” Drake agreed.

He gave himself a minute and then dragged himself up. Drake walked out from behind the barrier and began checking the dead. Grey was already removing weapons and putting them in a bag.

Drake bent to pick up a couple of knives and handed them to Serenity, who was following close on his heels.

There was a shout and Drake blinked as a Fang surged upwards with a gun in his hands. Everything happened in slow motion, and it would be forever etched in his brain.

“Dad!” Serenity screamed, lunging forward. The Fang turned to her and fired. Drake’s head twisted to follow the trajectory of the bullet and opened his mouth to scream.

Not his baby girl! Flashed through his mind. There wasn’t time to react.

A body came out of nowhere and flung itself at Serenity. A brother jolted, and Drake saw the bullet tear through his back as he took Serenity down. The Fang was yelling as he turned and aimed at Drake. Drake stared down the barrel of the gun, and even as he moved, he knew it was too late. He was dead within the asshole’s sights.

Someone hit him hard, and a sticky wetness splashed all over his face. Drake fell with a brother on top of him. Gun shots echoed as Drake realised his brothers had opened fire.

For a few seconds, he lay there as blood poured over him, and then he pushed his brother off.

“Klutz!” Drake yelled as he shoved a hand over Calamity’s throat, where the bullet had sliced through his left carotid artery .

“Klutz!” Drake nigh on screamed a second time. Blood pumped from under his palms.

“Don’t you dare die, son!” Texas roared, landing on his knees.

Klutz pushed him out of the way and lifted Drake’s hand. “Shit! Get my supplies!”

Klutz grabbed something in Calamity’s neck and held his hand steady.

“Hurry the fuck up!” Klutz yelled.

Drake saw Klutz was holding the end of the carotid artery. “I need emergency transport now! I can’t clamp it for too long before I cause a stroke or heart attack. We have maybe fifteen minutes to get him to a theatre.”

Gunner dropped to his knees in front of him, opening Klutz’s medical pack.

“Get a line in him, and I need a clamp… that there. Get me a haemostatic bandage out. That one, there! Texas, get your hand here and fucking press. If you ease up, he’ll die.

“Calamity, I know this is going to hurt, you gotta stay still, brother. We ain’t gonna lose you, so keep the fuck still. Any movement will force blood up and out and also risk the increase of a stroke or heart attack. Blink once if you understand me.”

Drake watched as Calamity blinked once.

“I need help!” Serenity screamed. “Dad!”

“Go!” Klutz yelled as he carried on working on Calamity .

Drake rushed over and saw Serenity bending over another brother. Fuck! He gasped as he noticed her hand in his chest, squeezing something.

“Klutz!” Drake roared again as Grey stared up at him with sightless eyes. Klutz looked up and winced.

“Maintain pressure on Calamity and keep those fluids going. Do not let him move!” Klutz demanded and grabbed his bag and raced over to Grey.

“I’ve got a pulse. Serenity, keep going,” Klutz ordered, checking Grey over.

“The bullet tore through him, leaving a hole, which is why I could get my hand in,” Serenity said coldly.

Drake recognised his daughter had completely switched into her street mode. She was robotic and cold. He didn’t know what to do; two brothers were critical, and Serenity needed him. Klutz began working even as Ace shouted for immediate transport. A helicopter flew overhead as Klutz worked on stabilising Grey.

A second copter drew near and landed close by. Paramedics ran out with a backboard.

“Go get a second, they gotta take them both or one will die,” Klutz ordered.

Drake nodded and approached the medics. They looked concerned but shook their heads.

“Can only take one. They need to know who has the highest chance of survival,” Drake yelled, devastated. One of his brothers would die if they didn’t get help.

“You, news helicopter, we need support, land immediately,” Spike bellowed through the megaphone. The chopper flew closer, and Drake saw the camera man pointing. Spike kept yelling orders as the paramedics secured Calamity and raced towards their transport. As the news helicopter landed, Klutz and Drake rolled Grey on to a body board and, with Serenity still massaging his heart, carried him over.

“Dude, we can’t take him!” the cameraman yelled.

“If you don’t, you can explain why a former FBI agent and a fuckin’ hero died!” Drake snarled.

Mac and Lex moved the guy out of the way even as he continued filming, and Slick lifted Serenity in as she kept massaging Grey’s heart. Klutz followed with Gunner and shouted for the pilot to take off. The cameraman attempted to jump back in, but the reporter hauled him away.

“No. There’s some stuff we don’t film,” he said. The reporter turned to those watching, and Drake held his gaze, covered in the blood of two brothers.

“We’re live on air,” the guy stated.

Drake nodded, understanding his warning.

“Is this a biker war, can you tell us why Rapid City is under attack? Why are gangs standing with the Rapid City police and other groups? What is going on here?”

“You wanna know?” Rock demanded, stepping up. “We got word that the Venomous Fangs from Florida decided they wanted our city. We warned the President of the United States, and the Feds, National Security, and everybody fuckin’ else we could think of. And they laughed at us. They said we overestimated an MC’s abilities. This is what the Venomous Fangs can do .

“The President left us here to rot. If it hadn’t been for the National Guard breaking orders and Ellsworth Air Force base, we’d be dead right now. And Rapid City would have fallen to home-grown terrorists.

“We ain’t a motorcycle gang, we’re Rage MC, a club, and we’ll defend our home against anyone who wants to attack,” Rock hissed.

Drake surveyed the remaining survivors and the destruction. RCPD was struggling, and Wild, Cowboy, and Lowrider had just gone to help. He looked at the radio as it crackled in his hand as the reporter kept on filming.

“We’ve got Fury,” a burst came over the radio.

Hell yeah.
