James
S o, Venomous Fangs had finally got the balls to make the move they’d been threatening for months. Years of planning culminated today .
James snorted. He wanted Fury with a passion. As soon as he’d learned that Fury had been funding Santos, that meant Fury was also responsible for Frank’s death. James wanted that fuck dead.
He nodded at Onyx as he arrived at zone three. His team and Riders of Vengeance were holding this together.
“Got enough shit?” Onyx asked as James cocked his head. It sounded like they’d already engaged the Fangs towards the east.
“Yeah, you need anything?” James asked.
“A kick up Lazy’s backside wouldn’t go amiss. Even today, the asshole is lagging,” Venom hissed with a dirty look at a brother who was closing his eyes.
“You gotta be kidding me,” Onyx growled.
“Dude, if he gets shot, it’s his own fault,” Jaime replied.
Onyx snorted and nodded.
“’Bout time we voted him out,” Venom muttered with a glare.
“Club business,” Onyx warned.
James was amused. He knew Riders least among his allies. He remembered Onyx had been ousted and thought killed and then returned and reclaimed his MC. From what James heard, Riders still had a little dark in them. That was fine as long as it stayed away from James and his business.
“Can see a dust cloud coming,” Madcap called, and Onyx nodded.
“I’ll call in,” James replied .
“Can’t believe you’re fighting in fuckin’ designer suits,” Onyx stated.
James smirked. “Did you want me to go home and change, princess? Are you feeling threatened?”
“Fuck you, Washington, don’t get dirty,” Onyx retorted, and James grinned.
They were elsewhere conducting business when the call arrived. James had called for his security team, who somehow had arrived before him and taken their places.
“Someone has to bring some class to the event,” Adam interjected, and Onyx looked at him.
“Even your fuckin’ men are in suits,” Onyx snapped back.
“Can’t all be long-haired scruffy bikers,” Adam replied.
Onyx snorted before laughing. “Ya jealous man, totally green. It’s a look you can’t pull off!”
James shook his head and picked up the radio. Onyx didn’t want it, so James had ended up with it.
“Nigel, Washington’s, and Riders of Vengeance in place. We’ve got a dust cloud heading our way,” James reported.
“Confirm names, please.”
James ran through everyone’s name on his team before handing over to Onyx, who verified his members.
“Confirmed,” Nigel said. “Intel from those already engaged, Fangs are heavily armed. Rocket launchers, flash bangs, grenades, machine guns.”
“Understood. Stand by, Nigel,” James replied and pocketed the radio.
“Ready?” Onyx asked.
James sucked in a breath and blew it out. “Is anyone ready for this shit? A fuckin’ war? Here in the States? We’re going to lose people, my friend, but together we’ll succeed.”
“Here’s to hoping,” Onyx said, pulling a whiskey flask out. He took a swallow and handed it to James.
“We got right and might,” James replied.
“Fuck the lot of them,” Onyx grumbled and grabbed a microphone. “To the approaching bikers. This is Onyx, President of the Riders of Vengeance. We are prepared to defend our city. Turn around and leave. Keep coming, and we won’t give a second warning. We’ll just fire on you while you are on open road,” Onyx bellowed.
They were laid down on container boxes with sandbags providing cover. The road was open to be ridden down, but any attacker would come through a pincer movement. There were about twenty freight container boxes placed adjacent to the raid but angled, and as you got further in, the street narrowed.
Onyx snorted as the bikers kept coming. Did Venomous Fangs think Onyx was talking shit?
James didn’t give a fuck. He lined up his Sig Sauer MC 388 machine gun and opened fire. Within seconds, the team were shooting alongside him; well, those at the front were. Those behind couldn’t, otherwise, they’d shoot their own side. Men fell from bikes, and motorbikes headed off before falling over, causing a pileup .
James watched as those with enough warning rode around the mess in the road but fell victim to the defender’s attack.
A section broke off and raced back the way they’d come.
“How many do you reckon fell?” he asked Adam.
“About thirty, some are still alive. I’m wondering if they’ll return for their injured,” Adam answered.
James watched intently as the enemy stopped out of range of weapons.
“What do you think?” Onyx asked.
“They’re gonna come back,” James replied.
“They just lost about thirty men, they’ll run,” Adam argued.
“Nah. They are either too scared of Fury or too loyal, they’ll come again,” James stated.
Minutes ticked by as they watched.
Men began moving around, and James nodded his head. He knew it. They were going to attack and try a pronged method. It would fail because of the pincer they’d set up. They couldn’t get around it, they had to walk through it.
“Told you,” James announced, and Adam sent him a glare. James smirked.
Onyx barked out some orders to his team as James gave his own.
“This is taking candy from a baby. I feel a bit mean,” James replied.
He grinned at Onyx and felt himself blown backwards. He and Onyx landed hard as they looked at where their container had been .
“Adam!” James screamed, not seeing his bodyguard anywhere.
Bells rang in his ears as he shoved a sheet of metal off him.
Nigel hadn’t been lying about a missile launcher. Those fuckers must have hidden someone behind the first line of attackers. James staggered to his feet and shouted for Adam again. Venom appeared from out of the smoke and bent down and checked Onyx.
As James stumbled forward, Venom ripped a piece of metal from Onyx’s shoulder.
“Pirate!” he yelled as Pirate ran towards them with a medical bag.
James looked at the burning container, searching for Adam. He saw movement and rushed ahead, shoving away the dizziness.
Pulling metal and debris away, James discovered Adam. Adam lay with his leg trapped under a sheet, and as James dragged him out, he nearly gagged. Adam’s leg had been sliced through. James immediately pulled his belt off and tied a tourniquet.
“I’m here, phone for an ambo,” Pirate cried, appearing.
He began wrapping Adam’s open wound in a bandage to keep it clean as James gazed at the man he’d learned to call brother.
“Call me an ambulance!” Pirate yelled, and James jolted.
“Nigel, two injured. Need immediate assistance. One’s a possible…”
“James?” Nigel called .
“Amputation. Adam needs a surgeon immediately, or he’s going to lose his leg,” James replied.
“Ambulance station alerted and given priority, someone’s on their way,” Nigel responded and cut the call.
Anger welled deep in James’s stomach. Fuckin’ Fangs, fuck Fury.
“Kill them all!” James roared.
The sound of gunfire increased as James took one last look at Onyx and Adam and headed for Jaime’s container.
He raced up the ladder with Venom behind him. Crawling on their bellies, they set up automatic weapons and opened fire on those approaching from the left flank.
“We lost Lazy and Hay,” Venom hissed as he fired.
“Dead?”
“Yeah.”
“Sorry, man,” James murmured.
“Lazy isn’t a loss but Hay was a good man,” Venom replied as he shot at the bikers.
“These ain’t too clever,” Jason commented from not far behind James.
“Missile launcher!” Venom yelled and began firing at the biker who’d picked it up. James and Jaime both fired, and it fell to the ground as the Fang was riddled with bullets. The damn thing went off, and James threw himself over Jaime.
“Holy shit!” Venom exclaimed as the missile landed right in the midst of the biggest bunch of Venomous Fangs and blew them sky high .
“Why the fuck are we fighting these assholes? They’ve not got a brain between them!” Madcap bellowed from his vantage point.
“We got runners!” Baker yelled.
“Keep the pressure up!” James ordered, climbing off Jaime.
“Don’t do that again!” Jaime snapped. “The only person I want on top of me is my woman!”
“Shut up, you’d be so fuckin’ lucky,” James retorted, peering through the sandbags.
“They are running,” Venom announced.
“No, they’re stopping,” Jaime replied.
There seemed to be two sides arguing. One was pointing away from them and the other towards them. Guns were drawn, and several dropped to the floor, dead. The argument seemed to settle, and the Fangs mounted their bikes and rode off.
“Stay watchful, because from what I saw, those not wanting to leave won that fight,” James called out.
“Agreed,” Madcap replied.
For the next fifteen minutes, they stayed alert, watching for the slightest sign of movement. As they eased up, a missile blew up a container with three Riders of Vengeance on. The Fangs rode directly towards them, firing as they came.
“Shoot back!” James yelled as a second container blew on the other side of them. It became a free for all as the Fangs attacked on two sides. But their bravery or stupidness went against them, the defenders had cover, and they didn’t.
For fifteen minutes, shots were exchanged when, finally, someone stood up and threw his gun to the floor.
“We surrender!” he yelled.
“Fuck that, they killed five of my men!” Venom hissed beside himself.
“Stop,” James hissed as Venom moved to fire.
Venom knocked James’s hand from his arm and James smacked him around the back of the head.
“You’re being watched. Shoot them now, and it’s murder,” James grumbled, pointing upwards. Above them was a helicopter filming.
Venom scowled and spat in disgust.
“Cover them while I send my guys out. If one moves, kill them, but not all,” James ordered.
Venom nodded as he saw Wyvern and Baker move Sparky, Torch, and Tank’s bodies together. Next to them lay three of James’s security team. He gritted his teeth as he knew two of them had families.
James looked around, accessing the rest of their damage. Viking and Storm both had gunshot injuries, and Jason was bleeding from a head wound but was alert.
“Nigel. Sparky, Torch, Tank, Roy Denver, Mila Shiver, and Trace Vincent confirmed dead. Need ambos for wounded. Viking, Storm, and Jason injured.”
Nigel repeated his words, and James acknowledged them. He watched as his security team zip-tied the assholes who’s surrendered. There was approximately thirty still alive.
“We need somewhere to hold prisoners. Got at least thirty of them,” James said.
“The Devil’s Scythes have something up and running. We’ll send transport for them,” Nigel responded.
“Nigel, any news on the others?” James asked as Venom came and sat with him.
“Adam is in surgery. Onyx is alive but waiting treatment, his isn’t life-threatening,” Nigel replied.
“The allies?” “RCPD have lost over half their force, injured or dead and needs reinforcements. Unwanted Bastards are riding to them. Hawthorne lost men. The Juno Group have a twisted ankle as their worst injury,” Nigel announced.
James began laughing. “That’s about fuckin’ right for those cold-blooded assholes.”
“Orders from Howser are to hold your ground until the all clear is given,” Nigel said.
“Not an issue,” James mumbled, puffing his cheeks out. Fuck, he was tired. “You got this?” he asked Venom.
“Yeah?”
“Fury’s out there somewhere, I’m going hunting,” James replied.
“Not alone. Take Tiger with you,” Venom stated.
“You need him,” James argued.
“Yeah, and if shit happens to you, I’m not having Adam hunt me down. Take Tiger. He does personal security,” Venom retorted.
“Fine. Let’s get moving,” James demanded and got to his feet. As he and Tiger headed for James’s car, an ambulance and army people’s transport raced by. James saluted them and kept going. He held his jacket over his wound in his side so Tiger couldn’t see.
James had beef with Fury and would be there to pull the trigger—or witness it. Nothing was going to steal his revenge from him. Frank deserved no less.
