SURPRISES AREN'T FOR EVERYONE
SPIKE
T he clubhouse smells like smoke, leather and sins.
Absolutely perfect.
It smells like home.
"What you doing over here baby? You've been nursing that drink all night." Dove slides up closer to me and pushes her hand up over my chest. I know what she wants. I'm more than happy to give it to her.
After all the shit the club has been through in the past few weeks, a good long fuck is exactly what I need.
"So you clocking me now? Do I look like I need a babysitter?" I question and slides my glass back onto the bar top.
Dove pouts out her plump bottom lip before she pushes herself even closer to me. Her tits are barely covered in the bright pink top she's wearing. I'm sure if she breathes too hard they might pop out. I'd pay some money to see that.
"Aww, honey. Don't be like that. I'm not your babysitter" she leans in to whisper in my ear, "unless, you've been a bad boy and need a little spanking."
I chuckle and grab hold of my drink again, "If anyone is getting their ass spanked it'll be you Dove. What's the deal, you trying to scream my name tonight?" I raise an eyebrow at her.
The last thing I want right now is to play around with someone who isn't really trying to get laid. I want to fuck, not talk. If I have to convince her, I'm not with it.
"You know it baby." She smirks and drops her hand in mine, instead of taking that as the sweet gesture as I could've, I turn her hand so her palm is out and I press it down on my growing cock.
"Let's do this then, beautiful."
Dove gasps for a second before she takes the bait and starts to massage my cock. This shit feels good as fuck. I'm ready to go.
I take one step forward. A step forward only for my entire world to be turned on it's head.
The door to the club slams open and instantly I push Dove away. I don't want her to be in the way if I have to fight and whoever burst in the door like that is obviously looking for a fight.
My vision goes hazy for a second as I try to focus on the intruder. It's not until everyone goes quiet that I realize I'm not staring at an apparition.
She's real. Really here.
"Jayne?" My voice comes out in barely a whisper.
She doesn't pay any attention to me instead she walks right over to Leo. Anger clear all over her face. I've seen that face too many times before.
"I told you I needed to talk to you."
Finally the gears in my head start turning and I realize what she's just said.
"What the hell? You knew she was here?" My eyes focus on Leo. His face is grim and I can see he wasn't prepared for this shit in the least.
Wasn't prepared to be caught out in a lie.
Instead of focusing on Jayne I make my way to Leo.
I glare at him, wanting to know what in the fuck is going on. My heart feels like it's about to beat out of my chest.
"We were waiting for the right time to tell you." Leo says before he turns his attention on my ex. The right time to tell me? What kind of shit is that?
"I told you to wait, you should've stayed at the hotel."
What hotel? What the fuck is going on? I shake my head and step in front so Jayne has no choice but to look at me.
Jayne looks between Leo, Nisa and myself. "I can't wait anymore. I need help. If you don't help me know you might as well be handing me a death sentence."
I'm not going to allow her to ignore me. I told her the last time I saw her, when she was packing her shit and leaving my house that I never wanted to see her again. I meant that shit with every fiber of my being.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I want to be mad, want to stay infuriated but the fear that I see on her face is already chipping away at the ice around my heart.
"Please, Spike I've got no where else to go."
She puts her hand out to me and without really thinking about it I take it. It's almost second nature to me. Like I have no other choice but to touch her.
Jayne was my everything. I'd have easily given up my life for her. Stood arms out and smiling in front of a storm of bullets for her. I thought I was over all of that when she walked out of my life but it's clear I'm not.
Instead of waiting for Leo to fill me in on what's going on, I pull Jayne along with me as I make my way away from most of the crowd. My brothers keep their eyes on me but they don't interfere.
A second ago the music was bumping so loud that it vibrated my bones but now it's at a manageable level. Everyone must be waiting to see what the fall out is.
I get Jayne to the corner and finally come to grips as to what is really going on. She's not my woman, she's nothing to me.
I drop her hand hard and my hands ball into fists at my side.
"I thought I made it absolutely fucking clear. You were never to contact me or my club again. What the fuck are you doing here?" I growl at her.
"Spike, please don't be like that. I need to talk to you. It's important."
"You think I give a damn about anything you have to say? If there was something for you to say it was back when you were walking out on me. Right now, the only thing I want is for you to be gone."
"Jayne, I can't. You don't understand."
"You're right, I don't understand. I don't want to understand. I don't know what you're trying to pull showing back up here and going to my president but I don't give a fuck. Get. Out."
I have the urge to grab her by her hair and drag her out but I know if I put my hands on her right now, I won't have any control. With the way I feel right now I'll hurt her. Badly.
"Spike, just..." She tries to reach out for me again but I pull my arm out of her reach. I don't want her touching me.
All that love I once had for her has festered and turned into hate.
"Don't fucking touch me. I'm going to leave now before I do something that'll land me in jail and you in damn hospital.
When I get back here, whatever business you have with Leo better be over.
I don't want to see your face around here for anything.
Do you understand?" I glare at her and she presses her lips together in a tight line before she nods her head once.
With that I turn on my heels and walk toward the door leaving Jayne behind me hopefully for the last time.
"Brother, hold up." Rumble rushes to catch up to me before I have a chance to get to the door. "Maybe you should hear her out.
"Maybe I don't need to do shit. I don't have anything to say to her and the fact that all of you bastards knew she was in town and didn't think it was important to tell me about it is fucking infuriating." Rumble I can hit. I wonder if he knows how close I am to losing my shit.
"We were under orders, Spike. We couldn't tell you." He shrugs and raises his hands in surrender.
Fuck this. Fuck her. Fuck it all.
Tonight was to celebrate Nisa and Leo getting out of their mess.
I thought I'd get lucky with one or two of the sweetbutts here but that's the extent of what I figured would happen tonight.
Jayne isn't the surprise I was hoping for.
