It was that guy who was always spoiling for a fight.Luke remembered him from the dance. What was his name?Trevor?Travis? He was approaching at speed, dressed in his bull riding outfit, fists clenched.
“Hey, this isn’t Europe!”he yelled, barging between Luke and the woman.“You think you can waltz in here and pick up someone else’s girlfriend?”
Luke stood his ground.“This being the land of the free and all, I’m free to talk to a woman if I want to.And I’m not doing anything wrong.”
“I warned you, didn’t I?”the bull rider growled.
“You assume I took you seriously,” Luke responded.
He didn’t want to start anything, but this guy had been getting on his nerves lately.
The bull rider jutted his chest out, his face looming much too close for comfort. He stout body seemed to be filled with explosive energy and no doubt well-trained to withstand the rigors of riding a furious five-hundred-pound beast.
Two of Travis’s buddies approached, scowling at Luke.
A fight was inevitable.

Hallie saw Travis andtwo other cowboys crowding in on Luke. She ran over as fast as she could...
Travis was winding up for a punch when she ran up behind him and tackled him.Her momentum was so strong that she toppled him to the ground! She managed to get her arm around his neck, putting him in a choke hold while pummeling his ribs with her fist.
“What the fuck?”Travis croaked.“Get off of me!”
“Hallie, let him go!”Luke’s voice cut in.
But she wasn’t about to release him and let him start a fight with Luke.Travis was way too dangerous.
Luke came towards her, but one of Travis’s friends, a big hulking fellow, blocked his way.Suddenly, the man crumpled as Luke stepped to the side and roundhouse kicked his torso.
Hallie managed to keep her choke hold on Travis even while he staggered up to standing, but then somebody pulled on her hair, nearly ripping it out. That red-haired woman had grabbed her!
“Don’t you dare touch my boyfriend!”the woman yelled, unleashing a storm of punches.
Hallie struck back, but she was forced to let go of Travis and try to deflect Carly’s assaults. She stumbled backwards and tried not to fall...
