Story: The All-Inclusive (The Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club #3)
But I know there’s more to the story. There are layers to Trent that his high school sweetheart still hasn’t seen.
How will it change things when Sara finds out?
Like he’s reading my thoughts, Trent meets my eyes with a clench in his jaw. The tension creeps back into his shoulders and he gives me a look I read just as clearly as he and Sara read each other.
Keep your mouth shut.
Message received.
It’s nearly dinnertime when I finally emerge from Sara’s suite. Trent stays behind, presumably to enjoy the perks of the honeymoon he didn’t quite earn the old-fashioned way. His presence here is a definite first for a resort that caters only to women.
The novelty hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“Hey!” Sybil steps out of a suite near the pool, still tying the strings on her lacy pink halter top. “You coming from room 16?”
“Yep.” Our strict NDA doesn’t extend to other consorts. While we rarely discuss what goes on behind closed doors, we do trade intel about guests. It helps to ensure a cohesively blissful experience.
“Cool.” Sybil falls into step beside me, smelling like sex and basil shampoo. Dusk drifts over us in a gauzy net, settling gently on the turquoise sea. “Wasn’t the enchantment scheduled for ten this morning?”
“It was.” It isn’t uncommon for consorts to glance at each other’s schedules, but I know why she’s curious. “I ended up spending most of the day with them.”
“ Them , huh?” She smiles like she already knew this. “So the boyfriend gets to stay.”
That wasn’t a question, so maybe she knows more than I do. “Not sure how long.”
“The next couple weeks, according to Kora.” She holds up her pager, which matches the one in my pocket. “Maybe you didn’t see the message yet. The guest reached out to Holyfield’s girlfriend, and you know as well as I do that he’s putty in her hands.”
That tracks. “So Trent gets to stick around, huh?” I try to decide how I feel about that.
On one hand, watching him take her on that table was one of the highlights of my consort career. Touching her breasts as she came apart under him, God . Let’s just say that’s a picture I’ll play in my mind the next time I’m alone in my room.
I couldn’t believe it when Sara texted her request this morning. I called right away to make sure she wasn’t just kidding.
“I want this,” she said, with a confidence I found kinda shocking. “This is my way of taking back my own story. The future of my sex life, you know?”
I said I understood, but the truth? It’s all a bit foreign to me.
But holy hell, that was hot. I’m big into watching, but it’s not very often I’ve gotten to witness someone’s first time at the hands of another lover.
“What’s he like?” Sybil asks, jarring me back to our stroll down the palm-lined walkway. “The fiancé, I mean.”
“He’s okay.” It’s such a stupid response that she snorts.
“Okay with watching you grope his girl while he fucks her for the first time, you mean?” When I give her a sidelong look, she just laughs.
“It was in the portal, baby. Everyone’s wondering who might get called in for their next enchantment or if that was it.
Virginity lost, game over, go home and start a family. ”
“I’m not sure what they’re planning next.
” That doesn’t mean I don’t have some serious hopes.
When Sara comes down from the high of her first time, will she still want me to have her?
Will Trent want to watch, switching places with me so he worships her breasts as his eyes lock with mine and I slowly sink into his girl?
“You seem distracted.”
I glance over at Sybil, who’s bouncy and perfect as always. “You think?”
“Like this couple got under your skin.” She studies my face and shrugs. “I’m sure it’s nothing. Just remembering what it felt like for me, but I’m probably projecting.”
“What do you mean?”
She smiles and tosses her wild, golden curls.
“The moment I laid eyes on Kora, I knew. I tried to pretend she was just another guest. This beautiful, bisexual bride-to-be who came here to lick her wounds and…well, get licked.” She laughs, but there’s something solemn in her eyes.
“But all that time I spent trying to convince myself I wasn’t falling for her was just a cover. A trick I tried to play on myself.”
“You really knew right away, huh?” I’ve seen them together, so I shouldn’t be surprised she and Kora bonded from day one.
“Oh yeah.” Her expression turns thoughtful. “If you’d asked me back then, I’d have told you it was just a job. I’m pretty good at lying to myself when I’m scared by the feelings. But it didn’t take long for me to realize what’s obvious to everyone who meets us now.”
I can’t help smiling at the dreamy note in her voice. “That you’re nuts about each other?”
“Pretty much.” She smiles. “We’re soulmates, Kora and me.
At the end of the day, there’s no one on Earth I’d rather be with.
I can spend all day having sex with gorgeous women and hot guys and it’s fun—don’t get me wrong—but nobody in the world makes me feel like Kora does.
She’s my better half, my partner in crime—my favorite person in the whole fucking universe. ”
“Wow.” I had no idea Sybil could get on her soapbox like this. “That’s sweet.”
“Yeah.” She stops walking and looks at me. “Something about this couple—the ones in room sixteen?”
“Sara and Trent.” Something shoots through me the second I say their names. “What about them?”
“I’m getting a vibe from you. A sense that there’s something more there.” She shrugs. “I could be wrong. Like I said—projecting, probably?”
“Probably.” I shift on the balls of my feet, uncomfortable for reasons I can’t quite name.
When my pager goes off in my pocket, I nearly weep with relief.
Perversely, I’m hoping it’s them. That Sara and Trent ignored my instructions to sleep on it, and they’ve already booked me tomorrow.
Pulling the phone out, I stare at the screen.
MFM Enchantment; room 36.
It’s not them.
And it’s a struggle not to feel too disappointed.
“Is it a good one?” Sybil’s still striding beside me, a gentle sea breeze lifting damp blond curls off the back of her neck. “I’ve got a three-girl enchantment at seven tonight, and the guest wants Kora to watch. I’m super excited for that one.”
“It’s all right.” I stare at the room number, wishing the three was a one. Wishing these feelings I’m having were for anyone other than a recent virgin and her standoffish Navy SEAL sweetheart.
But it’s just my dumb luck to go catching feelings for people whose lives could never mesh with my own. Their real world and mine couldn’t be more opposite if we were a different species.
“I think I’m in for the night.” I hit the button to decline, which I don’t do too often. “Today kinda took it out of me.”
“I feel ya.” She watches my face with a knowing smile. “Take care of yourself, Logan.”
I plan to. “See you around.”
As I walk to my room, I can’t shake the sense that Sybil might be onto something. That there’s more to my feelings for Sara and Trent than a casual, short-term hookup.
But there’s nothing to be done about that. No point in even thinking about it.
There isn’t, right?
