Page 77 of That Conflicted Feeling
ButmaybeMaxwas right earlier when he asked me to just go with it.
Whatwas itMomsaid this morning?Oneday at a time?
Perhapsshe was right too.Whoknows what the future holds?Theonly partI’msure of is that mine will focus onMom’swelfare and happiness.Andthat won’t leave much time for me.
SomaybeIshould take this now, whileIcan.WhileIhave the chance to experience the most magical feeling anyone has ever stirred in me.Thischance might never come again.
Mighthe break my heart tomorrow?Shattermy livelihood the day after?Ofcourse.
Buttoday is spectacular.
Okay,Mom.Oneday at a time.
AsIsink into him,Maxslides his hands lower and strokes the spot where my butt meets my thighs.Ashudder of need ripples through me from the top of my head to the tips of my toes.Asit passes through my center, it makes me instantly wet.Icrave him, every part of him, and want more than his fingers inside me this time.
Hetears his lips away and strokes my cheek. “Iwant you so much.MorethanI’veever wanted anything.”
Thetruth behind those words resonates in his voice and in the heat radiating from his body.
Istill can’t help but tease him.“Evenmore than whichever business deal you wanted the most?”
Hepresses a finger to his lips and looks skywards, pretending he needs to give it some deep thought. “Hmmm.Maybe.”
Ipoke him in the chest, likeIdid whenIdropped him off outside theB&B. “Oh, how romantic.”
Hesettles his head against mine again, running his fingers up and down my spine, leaving tingles in their wake.
“Seriously,Polly.Thisis a whole new experience for me.Iknow it makes no sense for either of us.Butyou light a fire in meInever knew was there to be lit.”
Hiswords set off a surge of reassuring warmth deep within me.Soit’s not only me who’s never felt this before?Ishe saying this is so remarkable, so magical and unique, that it’s all new to him too?
Hescatters kisses up the side of my neck that make my body hum with desire.
“Butthere’s no rush,” he whispers when he reaches my ear. “Wecan go slowly.”
That’smusic to my ears too, becauseIwant this feeling to last forever.Atthe same time,Ialso want to rip off his jeans and have him inside me right now.
Ifthe fireIlight in him is anything like the raging inferno he’s torched in me, we are in for one hell of an explosion.
“You’reright.Itmakes no sense.”Islide my hands over his pecs and undo the buttons of his shirt.Slowly, like he asked.Myeyes feast on his bare chest, my fingers drawn to his nipples, my mouth to his collarbone.Idot kisses along it asItell him, “It’svery inconvenient.”
Helets out a breathy laugh, puts his hand under my butt, and scoops me off the ground.Mylegs instinctively wrap themselves around him and hold on tight.
Hesits me gently on the edge of the bed and kneels before me, likeI’ma precious gift to be worshipped.Mydress has buttons all the way down the front, something that did cross my mind whenIchose to wear it.Hemakes swift work of the top few to reveal the lace braIdug out of a storage box from under the bed this morning.
Heemits a sigh heavy with desire and strokes the swell of my breasts. “I’mexcited to see these.Iknow they’ll be beautiful.”
Everynerve ending in my body springs to life as he pushes the dress off my shoulders, unhooks my bra, and slides that off too.
Heleans back to take me in. “Evenmore spectacular thanIimagined.”
Hecups my breasts and thumbs both nipples, sending a bolt of desire shooting between my legs.Myeyes close, my head drops back, lost in the sensation of his hands on me.
Whenhe replaces one hand with his mouth, a sound comes out of me thatIdon’t recognize.
Ibury my hands in his soft, thick hair as his mouth moves lower.Hecontinues to unbutton my dress, planting kisses where each new inch of flesh is revealed, until the fabric falls to my sides andI’msitting here in only my underwear.
“Timeto lie down,” he whispers against my skin while he eases me onto my back and moves over me.
