I totally got that waiter’s number.
What! OMG. He was so cute, good job! LOL!
And I kissed him.
OMG! You hussy! LOL!
The two women exploded into a fit of school girlish giggles, which caused Andrew to wrench his neck around and give them a look.
“What’s so funny?”
They continued to chortle as they blurted out in unison, “Nothing!”
Chapter Four
Nick
“What’s up, boss man?” Chase called into the office after smacking the doorframe a couple of times.
Nick waved him in and gestured for him to sit. “What are your thoughts on acai and rice?”
Chase made a face as he dropped into the chair across the desk. “I’ve heard of it as like a sweet breakfast dish.”
“What all is in that?”
“Ahh, brown rice, unsweetened almond milk, ground flax, acai powder, and sugar, I’d guess.”
“What if you nixed the sugar?”
“Might be too tart.”
Nick drummed his fingers on the desk as he pondered.
“I could swap out the almond milk and use coconut milk,” Chase offered. “Could be interesting.”
Nick tapped his index finger on his mouth. “Why don’t you try that out tomorrow?”
“You got it.” Chase darted a glance over his shoulder and looked back at Nick with a mischievous expression. “So. How many did you get today?”
“I’ll say one and a half.”
“Half? What the hell is half?”
“The second one got a little nervous,” Nick explained. “But she gave me her phone number.”
Chase scoffed. “So are you going to use it or what?”
“I don’t know. She was pretty hot, but then I’d probably have to do the whole date thing. She seems like kind of a good girl. Was here with her whole family. It feels a little too shitty. Even for me.”
Chase cackled. “Even for you. You’re such a fucking douche bag.”
Nick laughed as he shrugged. “I don’t see anyone complaining.”
“So what did she look like?”
“Oh man. She was cute.” He paused as he stared off into space. “Brunette. Big, brown eyes, kind of short, curvy in all the right places. Soft skin.” He paused again as he recalled the feeling of her thigh against his fingertips. “Yeah, she was really cute.”
Chase made a face. “Jesus. She got to you.”
