The same second my phone rang, and I answered without looking.
“Yeah?”
“Santi?” Lorenzo’s voice came through. “Have you heard from my dad or Amore?”
“Yeah, Amore just got on the plane.” A deep, relieved exhale sounded through. “Your dad had to deal with the police.”
“I almost had a fucking heart attack,” he muttered. “I saw the news and neither one of them were answering. Neither was my damn brother.”
I started to walk back to my Range Rover. Would it still smell like sex and Amore?
Her phone rang while I was eating her pussy, but we were a bit too busy to answer it. I smirked remembering her comment that she'd kill me if I stopped. My little minx was sex hungry. I’d never obeyed a woman in my life, besides my mother, but when Amore breathed out her command, it didn’t even cross my mind to stop. If the world was burning, I’d ensure my woman got her pleasure first.
I had to get a grip, at least act rationally.
“You there?” Lorenzo asked.
“Yeah, I’m here.”
“When are you coming to Italy?” he asked. “I never want to fucking leave. Women are plenty, food is awesome. Forget New York and the Cosa Nostra there. Come to the motherland.”
I chuckled. It was exactly how I felt when I visited there in my early twenties. Now though, I wanted to go for a different reason.
“I might come soon,” I told him.
“Better make it sooner. Once you get hitched, Italy won’t have the same appeal.” He chuckled. “I know Amore probably won’t be back once she is hitched.”
My step faltered. “What?”
“Come before you get married,” he repeated, but that wasn’t the part I cared about.
“No, you said before Amore gets hitched.”
“Yeah, she’s promised.”
The hell she is.“To whom?”
The rage burned hot in my bloodstream. Whoever it was, they would never have her. Just the idea of anyone laying their hands on her had jealousy snaking through my veins. The aversion I had to even the thought of any man standing close to Amore, never mind touching her, made my chest twist into something cold.
“I don’t know. I told my father it was a bad idea, obviously he didn’t listen. She even made several offhand comments that she'd rather cut off both her hands than get married through arrangement.” Lorenzo didn’t sound pleased about his father's arrangement. “Pà just refuses to be reasonable. He’s got it in his head that he is protecting her somehow this way.”
I couldn’t believe Savio made a marriage arrangement for his daughter. A flash of anger pulsed through my chest that he would have offered her to anyone… fucking anyone but me. From the moment she stepped onto Russo territory and I found her in front of the restaurant, she was mine. Back then, she was a girl under my protection. Now she was a woman under my protection.
“Would he consider changing the contract?”
The line went silent. “Why?” I didn’t answer. “Fuck, Santi. Don’t answer that one. I can tell already. I don’t want to know.”
It was right there and then I decided it didn’t matter. I’d kill whoever it was.
“See if you can get me a name,” I told him. “I’ll owe you a big one.”
And when a Russo owes, we always pay up.
CHAPTER27
Santino
It had been two fucking days… Two! And the need to fuck Amore was like a burning itch under my skin that I couldn’t get rid of. I didn’t know how I’d get through two months. Thoughts of her were a constant in the corner of my mind. It was a struggle to think about anything but how soft her skin was, how sexy her moans were, and how tight her pussy was.
