Both Adriano and I burst out laughing. Things were always funnier when drunk.
“We’ll tattoo Lorenzo’s ass too,” Adriano announced, trying to shove his hands into his pockets and missing. “With a donkey. My treat.”
“Stronzo,” my brother hissed.Asshole.
I chuckled. “That’s not nice, Adriano. I love Lorenzo.”
My brother’s hand came protectively around me. “I love you too. My favorite sister.”
I grinned drunkenly. “Awww, my favorite brother.”
I was too tipsy to point out to him I was his only sister.
“You love me too, though. Right?” Adriano asked, swaying and DeAngelo pushed him upward with an annoyed expression. “You and me together. Forever.” I frowned. His brother said we’d be together too. Sharp pain pierced through my chest, just as it always did when I thought about Santi.
“Sure,” I muttered.
“If you love me, let’s do this together,” Adriano repeated. “Matching tattoos. We can show it to our kids one day.”
My brows furrowed.Our kids?
“You two are drunk as fuck,” Lorenzo hissed, breaking my thoughts. “And you want to get a tattoo?” He looked like he wanted to punch Adriano and smash him into the next island. “And you are not having kids with my baby sister,” he added with a grunt.
Completely unperturbed, Adriano grinned. “With you or without you, brother.”
“I’m not your brother, jackass.” Lorenzo wasn’t Adriano’s fan tonight. Lorenzo turned to me, his dark eyes on me. “Don’t do it, Amore,” he pleaded in exasperation. “You’ll regret it tomorrow.”
I pushed him lightly, but he didn’t even budge. I was drunker than I thought.
“Perfect day,” my words slurred. “Drive us there or we walk.”
“You have to make sure we don’t get donkeys tattooed on us,” Adriano slurred badly, swaying back and forth. “Donkeys are only for you.” He reached for my hand and would have pulled me onto the sidewalk if Lorenzo hadn’t caught me.
“I hope you are not considering this,” DeAnglo warned Lorenzo. “Your father will murder you.”
“My father will murder me if they sneak out and do it alone,” my brother retorted in exasperation. “And end up with donkeys or something worse on them.”
An hour later we stumbled through the tattoo parlor.
Adriano pulled out his phone, showed the artist what he wanted for both of us. His artist went straight to work.
My artist wasn't that lucky. The moment I was situated in the chair, I shot up.
“I changed my mind,” I cried out, scrambling off the chair. “I think I want a tramp stamp.”
Lorenzo and DeAngelo groaned. “Don’t let her. You are her brother,” DeAngelo hissed at Lorenzo, but I ignored them both.
“You are a fucking ex special ops badass,” Lorenzo retorted back. “You tell her she can’t do it.”
DeAngelo rolled his eyes. It might have been the first time I saw the man do that. “I work for her, man.”
I raised my finger at both of them. “Stop it you two. It is just a tattoo.”
A snore sounded and our heads whipped that way. Adriano was in the chair next to me, asleep getting his tattoo.
“I never knew Adriano snored when sleeping,” I whispered conspicuously to Lorenzo and DeAngelo. “So unflattering.”
“Amore, don’t do the tramp stamp,” Lorenzo begged.
