Chapter Twenty-Six
After he took a couple of deep breaths, Jovian spoke, shocked a little at hearing his own voice so loud.
“I didn’t…I mean, I like the camp. I didn’t think I would. I’m definitely an inside girl, you know?”
There was laughter, including Cherokee.
“But the queens here, and Gary, the bartender, well, they made me go, and nowhere I have been has meant more to me.
“The people there, that are now here ,” he said as he looked out and saw Kathy, Mike and Alan waving like crazy, “Have become my truest and best friends. In fact, I shouldn’t be alone in this, because I wasn’t alone in planning it.
Alan, Mike, Kathy, please, come up, and all the campers, please, come down to the front!
Show these people what they’re helping to keep alive! ”
The crowd stirred, and he looked out to see the campers, all being hugged and hands shaken by the other patrons. They crowded into the front, but Kathy was the first on stage, then Mike and Alan followed her.
“These three helped me more than anyone has, and they put up with me, which a few people around Chaps will tell you, wasn’t easy.
They stuck with me, and they showed me that the camp wasn’t a punishment I was given.
It was a gift. So, I wanted to give that gift to others, which is why I thought this might work, and by the looks, it did! ”
While Alan, Mike and Kathy took turns saying hello in the mic, Cherokee pulled him into his arms. “I’m so fucking proud of you, baby boy. I can’t believe you did all this, just by your phone.”
“Well, one trip.”
“Okay, one trip.”
“And…” Jovian didn’t know how to say it, but he had to push himself. “I want to stay at the camp, after. I want to work there and maybe make it more than just six weeks.”
Cherokee stepped back, and it happened that True heard him. She let Bernie take the mic as she ushered them off the stage and into the back, where there were rooms for aftercare. In one of them, she pulled them, all of them, including Mike, Alan, and Kathy, while Bernie took over the stage.
“Okay, what the hell did I just hear?”
“True, the camp is great, but I heard many people say that they wished they could come at different times. Why only six weeks? We could still do the big camp at the beginning of the summer, sure, but what about a smaller camp? Close a couple of the dorm cabins, just have it for the nicer weather, and then eventually, we could do winter camps, if Cherokee would like to teach winter survival.”
“Honey, we couldn’t afford it for longer, but if this pays off the mortgage, well, we’d love to do that, of course! It would pay for itself that way. But, Jovian, we don’t pay our staff much. It’s not like you’d earn a lot.”
Jovian looked at Cherokee and said, “That might not matter because, well, I might not need to pay rent.”
Cherokee smiled, almost shyly. “No, you sure wouldn’t.”
“I’d come several times a year,” Mike promised. “I’d even volunteer my time for boating lessons or whatever. I’m getting pretty good at it.”
“This is…I wasn’t expecting this, but of course, I wasn’t expecting to be here tonight. I was sure I’d be packing up the camp.” True hugged him. “Damn, boy, you sure can surprise an old queen.”
“You surprised me with me. The me under all the stupid stuff.”
Cherokee held his hand. “Let’s get back out there and enjoy our night.
Together with Cherokee and his camp friends, they had a great time watching the shows, dancing together, laughing and cheering on True and Bernie in their drag performances.
Lonnie and Travis came to their table and joined them for a few of the shows before they went off and hung out with their old friends in Denver.
Jovian met all the porn stars, but Cherokee was right there, watching him closely. One little flirt, and Jovian could feel the smack of that big hand on his ass.
When he was so tired, he could barely see straight. True took the keys from Cherokee and told him they’d drive the campers back, so Cherokee could see where Jovian lived.
That made him nervous. Cherokee, seeing his life outside the camp. Would he judge? Would he hate it, like Jovian now hated it?
Decorated impeccably, white furniture over white rugs, fake plants in the corners, candles from the best stores placed here and there, and never lit. The apartment was two bedrooms, just so Jovian could store his clothes in one bedroom.
He knew Cherokee would hate it. “We can just go to a hotel for the night.”
“Why would we do that when you have a place?”
“My place, that’s the problem. I…I lived there before I got…and it’s very…and I don’t want you to…”
“Shh, baby boy. I will not hate your home. Did you hate mine?”
“No. I expected to, though.”
“I know you did. It was pretty obvious.”
Jovian groaned, “It was? God, I’m such an ass.”
“You were, maybe, but you’re not now. Were you not there, back at that club?”
“I was. I was. But…I really didn’t want anyone to know.”
“That was a good thing, a right thing, you wanting to keep in the background. But the folks you’re helping with that gesture, well, they had a right to thank you.”
“I’m sorry, Cherokee, for not telling you.”
“I’m not mad. Not even a tiny bit.”
Jovian glanced over while he turned onto his street. “No?”
“No. Baby, the pride I feel, you have no clue. I knew you had a good man inside you, but something like that?”
“Good,” he said, then swallowed the lump that was forming in his throat.
“So…what I was talking about back there? The free rent. I didn’t mean…
I wasn’t pushing to live with you. I figured I could take one cabin that we’d close to campers for the rest of the year.
I’m…I’m not trying to get you to move me in, you know, after we just fell, you know. ”
“You’re worried it’s too soon to move in together. I worry too, baby, and if you’re at the camp, well, that’s a good thing, but when you’re ready, and when I’m ready, yeah. I’d be happy to live with you.”
“That would be…my new dream come true.”
“Well, considering you wanted a rich man with a pool, I guess your dreams have changed a whole lot. I hope you never regret not getting the first one.”
Jovian actually felt himself laughing. “I think that dream was just stupid. Who wants a guy that does whatever I want? How boring!”
Cherokee laughed, and when they got to the apartment, he looked around and said, “It’s so…white.”
“I know. I thought it looked so…trendy and upscale. Now, to me, it looks…well, boring!”
“I know how we can dirty it up some. If you have condoms and stuff.”
“Not that will fit your dick,” he said, then spun around to see Cherokee laughing. “I mean…”
“Shut up. We both have had men in our pasts. Just…hoping, anyway, that we’re each other’s only future.”
Jovian went into his arms and felt himself being swallowed up by Cherokee in every way imaginable. “I really do love you, Cherokee.”
“I really love you too, baby boy.”
In the bedroom, they had to be okay with making out, and when they were both naked, Cherokee slowly stroked Jovian’s cock, slowly, roughly, kissing Jovian deeply, kissing over both of his lips, the corners of his mouth, all while he smiled.
Jovian teased him, “Why are you smiling?”
“Why? I’m in love with an amazing guy, and I’m currently playing with his dick. What’s not to smile about?”
Jovian giggled before he let out a long, whispered moan that came from his very guts as Cherokee tightened his grip and sped his stroking.
“I want to suck you, Daddy.”
“Not right now. I’m busy. Hush.”
Jovian got the treatment, having his dick first stroked, then Cherokee gave him the best blowjob of his life.
As he lay on his bed, the bed that was suddenly much too soft for him after sleeping on the hard bunk, he thought about how much he had gained.
Friends and a guy that he loved more than he thought he could love. Cherokee spoiled him. That was a dream that came true, but not with money and things. With himself. And that was priceless.
When it was Jovian’s turn, he gave the blowjob his all. His hand cradled Cherokee’s heavy balls while he sucked his cock down, deep throating for the first time ever. It was amazing the things a person could do when they were in love.
Cherokee moaned and growled through the blowjob, and his hands grabbed at Jovian’s pillows in such a way that one tore open, leaving feathers all over Cherokee’s face.
That still didn’t deter him from bucking his hips, fucking Jovian’s throat as he came, depositing a nice load that Jovian let slide easily down his throat.
He kneeled on the bed after watching Cherokee recover, and his mouth filled with saliva. The man was beautiful. A mountain man, rugged and tough, but inside he was soft and loving. The perfect man.
“Dang, you’re pretty, Daddy.”
He barked a laugh and asked, “Pretty?”
“Okay, manly and gorgeous?”
“Better. Come here, baby boy, and let me hold you. I had a fear this morning I’d never do that again, and I’m still gonna punish you for scaring me like that.”
“I’ll take it. I never want to scare you,” he said as he lay in Cherokee’s arm and brushed feathers off his face.
“Who the fuck still buys feather pillows?”
“They’re soft and I thought they were so classy, but they make me sneeze.”
Cherokee groaned, “You’d do anything for pretty.”
“Not anymore, Daddy. Now I’d just do anything for you.”
