Page 86 of Ruthless Prince
His eyes turned to meet mine. For a fleeting moment, they seemed sad. Then they turned cold and steely again. “Is that a seriousquestion?”
“Yes. Your parents said you wouldn’t hurt me so badly if we got along. They said it would be easier. But you won’t let it happen. You want to do all these terrible things tome.”
I sniffed back more tears as I waited for his response, but he didn’t say a word. He simply slid a granola bar over to me and rose to hisfeet.
“You’re a sadist, aren’t you?” I said, refusing to let him get away without giving me an answer. I deserved that much fromhim.
“No. Sadists get off on hurting people,” he replied. “I get off on hurting you. Onlyyou.”
“But why? Why do you hate me somuch?”
He narrowed his eyes. “What the fuck is wrong with you,Willow?”
“Nothing. I just want to know what I did to make you think I deservethis.”
He crouched near me and pushed my chin up, forcing me to meet his malicious gaze. “Why should I spell it out? You know exactly youdid.”
“I have no idea what you’re talkingabout.”
His lips twisted into a sneer. “Oh. I get it now. You’re hoping I don’t know for sure, so you can try to escaperesponsibility.”
“Responsibility forwhat?”
“Chloe, you fuckingbitch.”
I shook my head, brows knitting with confusion. “Chloe?”
“Yes,princess. That’s what you did.” Logan lowered his voice to a harsh growl and pulled me closer, eyes blazing. “You tried to kill mysister.”

Aflushof adrenaline surged through my body. “What the hell did you justsay?”
Logan’s jaw clenched. “I said you tried to kill my fuckingsister.”
“No, I didn’t!” I shook my head vehemently. “Why would I dothat?”
He snorted. “Don’t even try to pull that innocent bullshit with me. I knoweverything.”
“I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said, staring up at him with wide eyes. Was I right the other day? Had he actually lost hismind?
“I’m talking about the fact that you decided to run over my sister and leave her for dead. Remember that, you nasty littlewhore?”
I bit my bottom lip, wondering what on earth could’ve made him believe such a ridiculous notion. “Your sister was in an accident. Everyone knowsthat.”
“It wasn’t any old accident. It was a hit and run,” he said. “And you were the one who did it, with that stupid fucking Vespa of yours. I had no idea those things could do so much damage, but you managed to scramble her whole fuckingbrain.”
Baffled, I held my palms up. “Logan, I didn’t do anything toher.”
“Sure.” He crouched down again. “You stopped riding the Vespa right after that night. Was it out of guilt, or were you and your dear old dad just hiding theevidence?”
I raised my eyebrows. “So now my dad’s involved in thistoo?”
“He’s the one you called to help cover it up, isn’the?”
I exhaled loudly. This was crazy. “There was nothing to coverup.”
