“Well.” I turn to face him, intending to do something I haven’t done in a really long time. “Hurry back from your errands so we can continue what we started.”
His smile turns into a grin, liking what he heard.
There, I did it.
I flirted.
***Venom***
I pull up to Jeff’s place, shutting off the bike and kicking down the stand. I wish he lived farther, so I could keep riding with Emily pressed to my back, her arms wrapped tightly around me.
She feels amazing.
Last night? I’ve never done anything like that for any woman before, but I know she needed it. She needs to know that I want her, that she’s desirable. I know there’s still some distance to go before she’s comfortable with herself, but for the first time since I met her, there’s hope. She’s coming around slowly but surely.
As I walk her to the door, I take her hand in mine, giving her fingers a squeeze. She smiles over at me, a sight that could brighten the darkest night.
“I need you to do something for me, darlin’,” I tell her.
“What?”
“I need those divorce papers, and for you to tell me where I can find your asshole ex.”
Her eyes widen in surprise. “What are you going to do?”
“I’m going to make him sign them.”
Surprise turns to fright.
“Venom, please. I know you mean well, but like you said, he’s an asshole. I don’t want to make things worse.”
“They won’t be, because he’ll sign them and be the fuck out of your life.”
“You’re not going to hurt him, are you?”
“Do you want me to?”
“No, and not because he doesn’t deserve it, but because he’d use it to make my life a living hell.”
“If you don’t want me to, I won’t,” I promise. I might not do what I really want to, but there’s no way I’m leaving there without at least a few punches.
Emily gives me a skeptical gaze before disappearing into the house and returning with an A4 envelope. There’s also a note with two addresses—work and home.
“Thanks, babe. I’ll see you later.”
Pulling her underwear from my pocket, I hand it to her with a grin. She snatches it, bunching it into a ball in her fist.
“Could you be any less discreet?” she hisses, eyes darting around, looking for witnesses.
Chuckling, I drop a kiss on her lips, then head back to my bike and over to the clubhouse. Backup isn’t needed, but maybe having a few of my brothers with me would send the fucker a louder message.
The first one I encounter is Razor. Towering over my 6'4", he’s a huge motherfucker who’d strike fear into any sane person. He’s also my closest friend and the club’s sergeant at arms, so he’d be perfect for this little excursion.
“Hey, Razor. Wanna go scare the shit out of a dumbass motherfucker?”
“Fuck yeah.” He jumps to his feet, ready to go without an explanation.
“Where we going?” Crow asks, walking into the bar.
