“You’re not tempted to move in then, Calli?” I ask, knowing she doesn’t have a place here yet.
“I’m happy where I am right now. Far, far away from my brother and his overactive cock.”
“I guess having the basement with its own entrance to yourself means you can sneak guys in and out pretty easily,” I say, still hella intrigued about what she’s hiding.
“I’m yet to find out, but my parents are hardly ever home so it shouldn’t be an issue. Hell knows Nico got away with all sorts of shit down there.”
My hands are trembling by the time we step out of the lift and walk toward Toby’s flat.
“Are you nervous?” Stella asks.
“Yeah, and excited,” I confess. “This… hanging out with you guys, meeting his friends—family—it’s a big deal.”
“You don’t need to worry about the boys on the other side of that door. We’ve got them well under control,” Emmie announces as Stella lets herself into the flat to the sound of shouting and cheering.
“What the fu—”
We round the corner to find the guys wrestling in the middle of the room, the dining table pushed aside to give them all space.
“Demon,” Toby announces, causing Alex and Nico to pause as he jumps over them and sweeps me off my feet. “Mmm… you smell divine,” he says, nuzzling my neck, making me giggle like a schoolgirl.
He backs me into the wall and twists his fingers in my hair, dragging my head back so I have no choice but to look into his eyes.
“They didn’t scare you off then?” he asks. His tone is teasing, but his eyes give away his real concern.
“It was touch and go for a while, but I’m hungry so I thought I should make the most of the takeout they’ve promised me.”
“Argh, Toby,” I cry when he latches onto my neck, sucking on my skin until it starts to burn.
“You’re a demon,” he groans, grasping my jaw with his free hand, keeping me pinned to the wall with nothing but his hips.
“Exactly as you like me,” I manage to get out before his lips slam down on mine.
I hear the boisterous cheers from his friends for about three seconds, but then his tongue sweeps against mine and I forget about everything including my goddamn name in favour of handing myself over to him.
I have no idea how long we stay there in our embrace, our bodies locked together, but eventually a deep, male, “Get a fucking room,” breaks through my haze.
“Aw, you missing my girl, Nico?” I ask, shooting him a teasing look over Toby’s shoulder.
“Uh… who?” he asks, his brow creasing as he fakes confusion.
“You’re a shitty liar.”
I look around the living room where everyone has collapsed on the couch—Stella into Seb’s lap and Emmie into Theo’s—before I stop on a new face. Or… not a new face, a very familiar one to another in the room.
“I think the fizz was stronger than I thought. I’m seeing double.”
Toby laughs, putting me back on my feet as Calli emerges from his kitchen with drinks for the girls.
“Help yourself, Cal,” Toby grunts.
“I already did, thanks,” she quips, placing the beers on the coffee table seeing as both Stella and Emmie’s lips are otherwise engaged right now.
“I’ll take one of those if you’re offering, Baby C,” Alex says.
“I wasn’t. Shift your arse over.” She kicks him in the shin and his brows shoot up.
“Naw, come snuggle with your favourite boy.”
