Rebel

S he was gone. She wasn’t on the fucking street, and she hadn’t gone to the clubhouse—if that was even her destination in the first place. “Where the fuck is she?” I paced inside his office while Slate did his thing in an effort to find Nikki. When it was clear I wouldn’t find her on my own, I came straight here and told my brothers what the fuck was happening.

“Hang on, brother.” Slate was hunched over the keyboard, black brows knitted into a thoughtful frown. “It looks like she requested an Uber, but the driver cancelled the ride since she never showed up. It was about three blocks from your place.”

“Fuck.” She was so close, and if I had just looked more carefully, I could have saved her. “And then what?”

“Her phone is still on, and it’s not moving. It looks like she’s on the other side of the city. Hang on.” The words came out slowly, each one about three syllables until he found what he was looking for. “I traced the path the phone took, and it looks like she’s in Clover Park.”

“What the fuck is she doing there,” Rocky asked. “That place is just a bunch of rundown buildings and trailers.”

“Well that’s where she is,” Slate answered. “That’s not a property associated with the Blood Fangs though.” His brows dipped. “She know anyone out that way?”

“Not that I know of,” I answered easily because the truth was, I didn’t know much about Nikki. “Fuck,” I spit out the words. She was right and when I found her, I would tell her that, after I yelled at her for leaving.

“Who does it belong to?” Maverick asked.

“Don’t know.” Slate leaned back in his chair and grinned. “Why don’t some of you go there and find out?”

“Good idea,” Diesel replied from his spot in the back of the office. “Rebel, you go with Hawk, Rocky, and Gio. If you need backup, we’ll be on standby.”

Rocky stood and nodded. “Get Sniper and Pike to stay here with the women.”

“Let’s go,” I took off and made a beeline for my bike. If Nikki was there, I needed to be the first fucking face she saw. I needed her to know that I gave a damn, that I cared about her because I did. Hell, I might more than care about her if I let myself think about it for too long.

Later, though. Not now.

“Slow the fuck down,” Gio called after me.

I shook my head. “You hurry the fuck up.”

Gio only laughed and then started his bike.

After exiting the parking lot in a straight line, we maintained a staggered formation until we finally found the address in Clover Park where Nikki was—or at least, where her phone was.

It was just as rundown as the rest of the place, but there was red brick building that was cleaner than the rest. The parking lot was clear, and the hum of electricity was louder right out front. I was getting a really bad feeling about this.

“Look at that shit,” Rocky pointed to the flag that hung in the front window. “Motherfuckin’ TSB.” He shook his head.

“TSB?” Gio asked. “The Skeleton Boys? What the fuck do they want with Nikki?”

“Couldn’t even imagine,” Hawk answered. “They’re young, reckless, and stupid but we don’t have any business or beef with them,” Hawk answered, a perplexed expression on his face.

“We need to find Nikki first and then we fuck some shit up,” I growled. “Yeah?”

All eyes swung to Rocky since it was his call. “Yeah. Come on Gio, we’ll go around back.”

I lifted a leg to kick the door in when Hawk put a hand on my shoulder and then twisted the knob. It turned easily, loud heavy metal blasted my eardrums the minute I stepped inside. The first two rooms were empty, and we moved forward until we spotted half a dozen bikers drinking and playing cards in what must be their main hang-out area. Place stank like a locker room, and the air was thick with smoke.

Hawk turned off the music, plunging the place into a deafening type of silence.

“Hey, what the fuck?” The young asshole I assumed was the leader stood and turned to face us. “Get the fuck out of here now and we’ll let you live.”

I laughed and advanced on the punk. “Where is the woman?”

“Woman?” The asshole with the mohawk laughed first and everyone else joined in later. He was the leader. “You want to get your dick wet old timer? Cause we got women.”

I grabbed a handful of his spiky hair and yanked back until his chair fell backwards. I unleashed a series of punches on his face until he was bloody and gagging. “Where the fuck is she?”

“Oh shit, you mean that old bitch?” He stood and took a step forward. “Nope, don’t know who you’re talkin’ about.”

“Too bad,” Hawk said before hooking one arm around his neck and putting a gun to his head. “Because if you don’t have answers, you’re useless as fuck.”

Mohawk asshole laughed again. “Kill us and you won’t get any answers.”

He was right, dammit.

“See that’s where you’re so fuckin’ wrong,” Rocky said before he pulled out his gun and shot the redhead in the thigh. He smiled when the kid went down instantly. “We don’t need all of you to give us answers. Just one,” he said and aimed his gun at another guy.

No one said anything for one long minute, which frustrated the shit out of me.

“Okay, fine.” If no one wanted to answer my questions, then the least I could do was get out some of this fucking anger. “Don’t tell me. I don’t even give a shit.” I kept a tight grip on his mohawk and whaled on the motherfucker until he went limp in my arms and his blood coated my face and my shirt.

Gio grabbed a dark haired kid who’d tried to run and cut through the bullshit, putting the barrel of his gun inside the asshole’s mouth. “The old bitch. Where is she?”

His eyes were wide, and he shook his head. “I don’t know. All I know is that some of the guys saw her on the street and scooped her up.”

“Why?” Gio shoved the gun an inch deeper before he removed it to get an answer.

“The Blood Fangs have a bounty on her. More money if she was alive and not hurt.” He laughed. “Paid a pretty penny for her too.”

Gio raised his hand in the air and brought the butt of the gun down on his forehead, smiling when his legs buckled. “Asshole.”

“Where did you take her,” Hawk asked.

“No fucking clue. We met them at an exchange point, the woman for a stack of cash.” He shrugged like it was no big deal to him. “That was at least an hour ago,” he sneered. “She’s probably dead or turned out by now.”

Hawk pressed the barrel hard against the side of his face. “That’s my friend you’re talking about. Where did you exchange her?”

“Don’t know,” he replied with a smirk that said he absolutely did know but wouldn’t tell us.

“That’s too bad,” Hawk said on a loud sigh before he grabbed the asshole by the wrist, slammed his palm on the table and shot it.

“What the fuck, man?” He fell to his knees, crying like a bitch at the hole in the middle of his shooting hand.

“Answer the question, or you’ll have two useless hands.”

The kid was either tough or stupid, but he was fucking with the wrong MC today. He tilted his head back, a defiant expression on his face.

Hawk shrugged and grabbed his other wrist, placing his palm flat on the table. “Last chance.” He put his finger on the trigger. “Three. Two.”

“Okay, fuck! The parking lot of that old titty bar that looks like a fuckin’ jail cell. That’s where we handed her off.”

Hawk pulled the trigger anyway. “That’s for kidnapping an innocent woman, asshole.” He released the kid, leaving him to wail on the ground in pain.

“It’s a start,” I grunted and looked around their clubhouse for anything that might tell me where Nikki was.

“Diesel and the guys are gonna meet us there and Slate’s lookin’ into where the Blood Fangs would’ve taken her. Their clubhouse is too easy.” Rocky’s brows dipped in displeasure, and he nodded to the door. “Let’s get the fuck out of here.”

“It feels weird leaving without shooting somebody or settin’ some shit on fire,” Gio grumbled.

Hawk laughed. “You wanna shoot somebody?”

He nodded. “I always want to shoot somebody, but I’ll settle for setting somethin’ on fire.”

Rocky clapped his kid brother on the back. “It’s still early, you might get your chance.”

“Hope so,” he groaned. “My trigger finger is getting’ itchy. Let’s get Rebel’s woman and set the Blood Fangs on fire.” He clapped his hands, got on his bike, and started the engine. “Let’s go!”
