Sebastian
Once he knew Sunny was in a deep sleep, he left a soft kiss on her temple, hating having to roll away from her to slide out of bed, but that’s what he did, and he walked on silent feet into the next room, closing the door behind him.
He might have loved being between his wife’s thighs for the last hours, bringing her to spectacular orgasms before he stroked himself off with her help, spilling on her belly, but no amount of feel-good climaxes could stop the rage fizzling throughout Seb’s veins as he called his president.
When he had a gut feeling, he had to follow it.
“Priest.” The amused tone Rider answered with, “Didn’t think you’d resurface for days.”
“Ordinarily, you wouldn’t hear from me.” The last thing he wanted to do was interrupt his quickie honeymoon. “But I have an issue I need looking into.”
“What’s that?”
“Some guy approached Sunny at our table tonight, brought over champagne, and said it was a gift for newlyweds while I was in the can. He took off before I got back. Sunny didn’t get any hinky vibes.”
“But you did?”
“After what’s gone on recently, yeah, Prez. It’s fucking weird. I wasn’t gonna let my wife drink booze from a stranger.”
“I get that. What do you need?”
“I need the footage from the hotel CCTV. I wanna see who it is, if I can recognize them.”
There was noise in the background, as if Rider was moving about his house, and Seb realized how late it was. “Shit, I forgot the time, sorry, Prez. This can wait until tomorrow if you ask Lawless to look into it for me.”
“I was up anyway. Alpha is dealing with something,” that meant he couldn’t disclose it over the phone lines, “You young guns always giving me fuckin’ ulcers.”
Seb chuckled.
“I’ll contact Lawless to see if he can break into their servers.
He’ll be tickled fuckin’ pink to use his facial recognition program.
It’s always a happy day for the enforcer when he can spy on someone.
” That was true. Those Penns were weird as fuck because Saint was the same way. He got off on knives and mind games.
“It’s probably nothing, but I’d rather know it’s nothing more than be left wondering.”
“You listened to your gut. It’s mostly why we’re alive today.” Rider said.
After the call, he stayed in the living room for a while, percolating things in his head until he yawned and padded back into the bedroom.
The lump underneath the covers called to him silently, and Seb’s heart tugged as he crawled into bed with Sunny.
“Where did you go?” she asked sleepily when he curled an arm around her. “I missed you so much.” Sunny’s nose nuzzled into his chest like she was trying to burrow into his skin.
More asleep than awake, his girl lifted her face, and Seb accepted her sweet invitation; falling into Sunny’s warm mouth, he lavished lazy kisses on his wife, knowing she was already half asleep and he couldn’t start anything, even though being close to her revved all his engines to full throttle.
As she settled into his chest and pawed down his stomach until he covered her hand, she purred several times but eventually fell asleep.
Seb took a while longer to follow her because his mind was busy. What if it was the same guy messing around with Seb’s life? What if he went after Sunny?
She was the most important person in his life.
It wasn’t a throwaway sentiment for him to declare he’d set fire to every inch of the earth if a hair on her head were touched. He meant it with all of his heart.
It didn’t take a violent man to turn into a monster.
It only took a moment—an event where someone touched someone they loved, and then a monster was born.
Seb would be the fiercest demon the world had ever known if something terrible happened to his Sunny.
As sleep dragged him under while he held his precious wife, he had to hope that the guy was just a die-hard romantic and not some lunatic who’d followed them from Colorado.
Because if it was the latter, and someone had a serious, unknown vendetta out against him, then shit just got real.
The call came late the next afternoon while Seb was walking around a flea market with an over-excited Sunny.
You wouldn’t think she’d grown up wealthy. Now that they were married, she was financially secure since his assets became hers; she enjoyed negotiating for inexpensive items she could have easily afforded.
“The point of markets is to barter with the price, Seb,” she’d schooled him earlier. It was fucking cute to watch.
Even after she’d bartered and turned a radiant grin his way, looking like the cat who’d deep-throated a canary, he fished out the money from his clip to pay and then moved on to her next caper.
They’d had a lazy morning.
It started by showering together.
He might be under the thumb already because he loved that shit.
Doing personal tasks for her, like washing her hair and ensuring the suds were rinsed off her body.
He hadn’t fucked her since their wedding night.
She was still tender, but it didn’t stop him from rubbing a little pleasure out of her just by toying with her sensitive areas.
His phone vibrated in his back pocket. He’d only brought it because he’d been waiting for the call.
Sunny was busy munching her way through a bag of blue cotton candy as he answered.
His other hand dropped low on her spine, directing her through the market crowd to an empty bench. He remained standing.
“Yeah?”
“Yo, mister honeymooner, how goes it?”
“We’re not talking about my honeymoon.” He told Lawless, knowing that if he said one word about how happy he was, it would be around the clubhouse like smoke. “What’ve you got for me?”
“Well. I had fun, if you must know. It was a nice way to relax this morning.” Only Lawless would think so. “I’m sending you a file through the portal.”
The MC had a private online portal to share intel that no spyware could penetrate. It became helpful in sharing sensitive material.
“What’s your take?”
“You were right to be suspicious.”
Behind him, Sunny poked his hip. “Who are you talking to? We’re supposed to be AWOL from the club.” She stage-whispered, but Lawless heard and chuckled darkly.
He turned and winked at her. “Shush a minute, baby.”
“The little wifey is giving you grief already.”
“Like yours doesn’t.” Seb countered.
“I’m older.”
“So?”
“It’s my answer for everything, kid.”
It didn’t matter that Seb was approaching thirty in a couple of years. Everyone was a kid to Lawless. And none of the younger members gave a shit about it. Lawless was someone to learn shit from. If Lawless didn’t know something, it wasn’t worth knowing.
“What were you saying?”
“Thanks to the many camera angles, by the way, I fucking love it when a place has different angles to work with. Makes my dick giddy as fuck. We see the guy enter the hotel at two-thirty-six p.m. He parked in the bar and waited until you and Sunny appeared four hours later.”
Shit .
“You and the Mrs. were too wrapped up sucking face with each other to notice you had an audience the whole time.”
Fucking shit .
Seb’s blood ran cold.
He should have noticed he was being watched.
Running a hand over his hair, he turned to watch Sunny enjoying the last of her cotton candy. She stuck her tongue out at him, and he saw it was blue.
“It gets better, depending on how you look at it. As soon as you took off, he sprang into action, ordered a bottle, had it opened, and while the bartender was busy, he slipped a mickey into it.”
“ Motherfucker .” Seb spat, and Sunny’s eyes widened. He waved off her concern and turned away again.
“Not sure what the stuff would have done since you poured it out. Might have only given you the shits, or it could have killed you both. I doubt it was a kidnapping attempt. Too public. The guy didn’t stick around to see what happened either way.
He left by the entrance. I lost him when he walked on foot and didn’t get a ride. ”
Though in public with Sunny, he controlled his anger, his fist clenched as his rage simmered.
It was no longer childish pranks.
Someone had followed them, came into their private space, and attempted to fucking drug him and his wife.
For that alone, for that small fact, this fucking cunt had approached Sunny when she was unguarded and attempted to befriend her with a kind gesture. The guy was walking his last free steps. It didn’t matter what Seb had to do to find him. He’d be found and dealt with.
“Did he speak with anyone else?”
“Negative. Not in or out of the hotel. I couldn’t spot anyone else casing you.”
“Did you get a good face fit?”
“That’s the thing. Their cameras are 1990s kind of shit, so it’s taking some time to clean up the pixels. I’m doing my best.”
Rooted to the ground while families and couples mingled around them, enjoying their day. Like he’d been doing only minutes ago, Seb felt like a grenade with the pin taken out. He needed to do something. Right now. Like strapping on his 9mm and going on a hunt.
But he was without his weapons. They were in his home safe; he hadn’t wanted to be a biker for these few days, only Sebastian, Sunny’s husband.
And that had been his first mistake, leaving them wide open.
Now, he had the dilemma of staying or taking her home, where he knew she’d be safer. If this guy had walked into their hotel once, he could do it again. He considered going to the Wyoming chapter, but that was no honeymoon for Sunny.
“Thanks for the intel, Lawless.”
“No problem, Priest. Enjoy your old lady. If I get anything new, I’ll hit you up.”
They hung up, and Seb parked himself on the bench next to Sunny; he found the file in their secure portal app and hit play. It went down as Lawless described.
Once more, Seb’s blood iced over to know how close he’d been to her. Could have easily pulled a knife. His wife would have been lost in moments, unable to defend against a surprise attack.
“What’s that?” she asked, craning over his shoulder.
He wouldn’t hide the truth but wouldn’t directly expose her, so he pocketed his phone and took her hand.
“Let’s head back.”
“But we haven’t tried the funnel cakes yet!”
Unable to resist her adorable pout, he released his breath, strolled to her desired stall, and purchased two items, carrying them in his free hand.
“You’re such a hand holder,” she grinned, halfway back to their hotel. “It’s so cute.”
All the while, Seb was watchful of who was around them. He had the cut of the guy’s build and how he walked. He’d recognize him again.
Turning his head, he smirked at Sunny. Seeing her face lessened his anger, and he kissed the back of her hand.
“I’m always gonna have my hands on you if you’re near. I didn’t think you’d appreciate me cupping your little ass in public.”
“I wouldn’t mind,” she retorted. His shy girl surprised him, and he went to drop her hand to do just that when she laugh-screeched his name and held on tight. “Wait until we’re back in our suite.”
“Count on it.”
They were near the hotel, waiting to cross the street, when he told her.
“I need to talk to you about that phone call when we’re back in our room. But first, you’ll slip out of your dress and slide onto my lap so I can do some private touching. You good with that?”
The smoke that entered her eyes could almost have derailed Seb, had it not been for his vigilance, which kept him on high alert. But she still turned his stomach to soup. He had no decency when he wanted to mark his wife with his love.
“More than good with that,” she hip-checked him, grinning. “I have a long list of things I need to try.”
He just bet his studious girl had a physical list.
And he couldn’t wait to check everything off for her.
