By the time the others finished with the stocking I was ready to get up off the floor.

I hated the thought of Odell not being pushed up against me, but the floor was killing my back.

Not even dragon bones would save someone from needing a chiropractor if they had to sleep on that floor every night.

I pushed myself up, taking him with me. He held on tight even once we were upright.

“Are you leaving now?” Missy asked, glancing back and forth between us and Indigo and Ambry who held onto each other too. “I hope so. I really do.”

“Will you be alright on your own?” Ambry asked.

I had a feeling that this was their usual song and dance number. Ambry wanted to get the hell out of here but didn’t want to leave anyone hanging if there was still work to be done.

“Go on, get,” Missy shooed him with her clipboard. “All of you go on and don’t come back until you’re in better moods! I expect an invitation to the baby shower by the way!”

“Did Teal leave already?” I asked, ignoring her waving clipboard as the four of us started toward the door.

“He went to deliver the fruit. I’m not sure if he’s coming back tonight or not. Probably not. Well, maybe. I don’t know. He’ll let us know. He feels undecided, doesn’t he?” Indigo asked.

“Where are we going?” I asked as we neared the car.

“The apartment,” Odell and Ambry said in sync.

The pair of omegas shared a long look that I couldn’t quite discern the meaning behind. I squinted studying my mate’s expression and scent. We’d talked a lot inside the grocery store about why their exes had became exes and some of that included the size of the apartment.

“There’s only one bed at the apartment,” Ambry said a moment later. “We usually share.”

“We can sleep on the floor if we have to,” Indigo said before I could speak. “Or we can buy another one or whatever.”

“We can all squeeze into one if that’ll make you happy. Remember that crappy hotel on Hemlock Mountain?” I laughed. “All three of us tried to sleep in one twin bed.”

Indigo laughed and the omegas blinked at me as if they were trying to imagine me and my brothers all in one bed.

“Hey! We made it work,” I pointed out.

“We did but we don’t want to break their bed. Our house is always an option when you two are comfortable enough. We have four bedrooms. Though we really have only slept in one unless one of us has a guest over,” Indigo said.

Odell yawned and I hit the button to open the wings of the car. Ambry rolled his eyes but my mate grinned at me. I nodded to the backseat and tossed the keys to Indigo who caught them.

“I drove here,” he frowned at me. “And you two---”

I held my hand out for the keys before he finished the sentence. As much as I wanted to ride in the backseat with Odell he was right. They had done the work of stocking while we spent our time cuddled up on the floor. It was only fair they had the chance to snuggle up for a few minutes.

“You got shotgun then,” I said, holding my hand out to help Odell sit down. I made sure he was all properly tucked inside the silver winged beast and double-checked with Indigo that he and Ambry were settled in safely in the back before I slid behind the wheel and brought the wings down.

Inside the car was a whole new world. The car was luxury sized but shrank to the size of a closet with all of us sitting there.

Odell’s scent was everywhere almost completely covering up Indigo and Ambry.

Normally, if it were just the two of us and our dates we put them in the backseat together.

If Teal was with us, we ended up in all sorts of weird arrangements.

I took Odell’s hand in mine as I pulled the car out of the parking lot.

My brother and Ambry curled up together in the backseat, but the latter kept his hand on my mate’s shoulder.

How strange this all must’ve been for them.

I shook my head trying not to think about how the stench bombs still clung to my mate’s skin.

“RED LIGHT!” My dragon roared inside my head and my foot hit the brakes automatically. I had to keep my thoughts on the road. I had to keep my—Where was I going again?

“Park,” Indigo said. “Pull into the hair place’s lot. I don’t think driving makes sense right now.”

“You sure?” I asked, but was already swinging the car into the parking lot.

He was right. If my dragon had to give me driving tips I shouldn’t be driving.

Neither should he probably. I wasn’t letting either of our mates near the steering wheel until I knew if they could drive.

If one of us murdered the Moonscale Wing 7 it was whatever, but I wasn’t sure our parents would feel that way about our mates doing it.

“They’re going to call soon, probably,” Indigo said, picking up on my thoughts over our link.

“Probably,” I nodded. “Definitely. They’ll probably call Teal, though. They think he tells them everything.”

“They wish he told them everything,” Indigo laughed.

“No, they don’t,” I shook my head. “That way if our grandparents ask what we’re up to, they have plausible deniability.”

“What are you two up to?” Ambry asked from the backseat.

“Nothing illegal. Not us anyway,” Indigo shrugged. “Teal’s business is his business.”

“Are we walking?” Odell asked. “It’s only about a mile. It’s not that far to the apartment.”

Indigo and I shared a long look. If we were alone, we’d have risked the drive.

It’s almost impossible to kill an alpha dragon.

As good as Odell smelled, he also smelled squishy and fragile.

Sure, he was a shifter and probably had more mental resilience than a lot of dragons from surviving the war, but I wanted him to be okay and be squishy.

Squishy seemed like the natural state for wolves.

London was more or less safe to walk at night but was it as safe for squishy wolves?

“We walk in the dark alone a lot,” Ambry said, patting around trying to find the door handle.

“It’s up here,” Odell said a moment later.

“You that ready to be away from me?” Indigo asked, his voice sounded more hurt than I expected.

“He’s a little bit claustrophobic,” Odell said, opening the passenger side door.

Ambry slipped out and we all followed him moving as one. I wondered what the onlookers thought. I glanced around the parking lot. There were a few cars around. Mostly teenagers trying to find a place to smoke their pot or make out without being disturbed by adults.

“I remember those days,” Indigo chuckled as he looked Ambry up and down, wondering if he was supposed to pull him close or let him breathe. Neither of us were sure which was better for claustrophobia.

Odell opened his arms and I almost hugged him, but Ambry walked into them. I moved closer to Indigo, using our bodies to block the view of our mates from the street. I had the urge to snatch them up and fly off with both of them.

“If you two need a minute you can talk inside the car or we can get inside the car or---” Indigo said only stopping when Ambry finally looked at him.

“Thanks,” he said and slid into the backseat of the car, dragging Odell with him. My mate pulled the door closed behind them.

“I miss them already,” Indigo said as soon as the wing clicked shut.

“Me too. What do we do now?”

“I’m not sure. I guess we guard. Do you think they’re talking about us?” Indigo asked.

“Maybe. Probably or where to hide the bodies or sex toys or something like that,” I chuckled, trying to break the tension.

“Maybe Ambry doesn’t like being inside of cars.

Some furry shifters fear them. I think they even invented some new phobia name for it.

I don’t remember what they’re calling it, though. ”

“Maybe,” Indigo bit his lip. “Do you think we’ve already fucked this up?”

“I don’t think so. We didn’t do anything. Should we have insisted that they come to our place?”

“No,” Indigo shook his head fast. “Ambry was insistent that he wasn’t giving up the apartment or Odie.”

“Maybe we buy the whole apartment building to have more room,” I tossed out the idea.

“Don’t do that,” Teal cut into the conversation. “Stop being the grandson of Clarence Moonscale for two seconds. What are you going to do? Buy the whole building and make their neighbors homeless so you can have more room?”

“We wouldn’t do that!” Indigo snapped back.

“If we did that, we’d get them other places to---” I started to say.

“NO!” Teal roared. “Just no. Give them a few minutes to talk. You two are a lot to handle individually. Maybe it set in that they have to handle both of you forever.”

“We should probably feed them when they’ve finished talking,” Indigo changed the subject.

“Maybe they’re figuring out who gets the bed and who---”

“Shush,” Indigo hushed me. “Seriously. Shush. Yeah. I know. Me too.” He glanced down at his crotch. “Just no. I’m not turning into a prude but all that has to be up to them. We might not outnumber them exactly but we outweigh them by several hundred pounds and even more magic.”

“I’m putting extra condoms in all the baskets,” Teal cut back into our conversation.

“What baskets?” Indigo asked.

“Your matingmoon baskets, dumbass. I would make two really big ones but if they’re that short on space I’m not going to stress them out. I just hope you two can fit through the doorways with your big heads.”

We all laughed, and Teal started running down lists of things he planned to include in the baskets. A few hours ago, I was trying to convince an elf to suck me off again. Now, I was planning forever. Talk about bloody whiplash.

“Don’t worry about Crilus,” Teal chimed in. “I hooked up with him for you too.”

“Huh? What do you mean, Teal?”

“He knew it was me,” Teal laughed.

“What the hell?” I blinked.

“Hey. You got forever. I just got a quicky behind the bar. Shut up and decide between fresh and dried apricot.”
