“Why didn’t you ask me to dance with you?” I teased softly. But I knew if he would have, this man would have swept me off my feet a long time ago.
“Because though I didn’t know your name, I knew you were too good to be dragged into my corrupt world.”
Despite being the underworld boss, Nico was a good man. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have thought twice back then to drag me into his world. He would have taken what he wanted regardless of the cost.
“I didn’t know who you were,” I murmured. “Though if I had known, I might have sought you out. Because I had quite a few fantasies about you.”
We stared at each other for a moment, our admissions shifting the air between us.
“I should have been a selfish bastard and taken you,” he admitted. “But I knew that I wouldn’t have let you go.”
“And here we are,” I whispered.
“Here we are.”

It had beentwo days of bliss. Mom had been recovering, though she hadn't said another word. I felt a strange sort of contentment. Nico along with Cassio and Luca seemed to constantly have meetings. I assumed something bad happened, but oddly enough, I felt safe. I was playing a dangerous game, putting the odds of Mom’s, the twins’, and my safety in his hands.
Trust was a concept that was natural to me until just recently. I trusted my mom, dad, and grandma implicitly. After I found out the family secret, the trust became cracked, but I understood why they did it. Dad used his last breath to explain it. But William might have shattered it.
However now, I found myself trusting Nico.
“What are you cooking?” Nico’s voice came from behind me, and I whirled around. It was barely five o’clock and I had given the chef a day off so I could prepare dinner myself. Nico has had some long days, and he surprised me by being here earlier today.
His arms wrapped around me and without thinking, my body leaned back into him. His strength was always comforting.
“Just a simple dinner,” I told him. “Filet mignon with red potatoes and asparagus. It’s the girls’ favorite.”
“Hmmmm,” he gently nibbled my ear. “Mine too.”
“And for dessert, I made chocolate mousse. Hope you have a sweet tooth.”
His hot breath on my neck sent shivers down my spine.
“Only when it involves you.” My husband was insatiable. So was I when it came to him. It was a completely new feeling. I never considered myself particularly sexual, until Nico entered my world. Now I was acting like a sex crazed teenager.
“How was your day?”
“Better now that I’m home,” he said, his teeth gently nipping at my earlobe. God this man, I could never get enough of him.
I cleared my throat, so he wouldn’t see how badly he impacted me. “Have you checked on your mother?”
He told me Nancy checked into rehab and wanted to get clean. I was happy for her and for him. It meant a lot to Nico to have his mother back in his life.
He glided his hand downward, brushing against the side of my breast, and tracing it down my hips.
“She’s recovering well,” he drawled, his voice soft. “Now, I want to hear your moans, not your questions.”
Jesus. My ass ground into his erection, as a moan passed through my lips. I ached so badly for him. He gathered up the hem of my dress to my stomach, his fingers brushing over my soaked panties.
“I want to make you come now,” he said roughly, his voice hoarse in my ear.
His scent was all around me, the dinner forgotten. I moaned louder as he circled my clit through the thin material of my panties.
“Nico,” I breathed out. “Someone might come.”
The wetness pooled between my thighs, the pulsing ache driving me crazy. He slid my panties to one side and delved deeper; his raspy low curses whispered in my ear. His finger thrust into my pussy and my stomach clenched.
