Page 110 of Nico
Wow. Just fucking wow.
He was the best looking guy I had ever seen. Older than me. But so dangerously handsome.
Dark suit. Awesome body. Dark hair. Mesmerizing eyes, but I had a hard time seeing their color from all the way here, and I wished I had an excuse to get closer. And his sharp, handsome face with the perfect five o’clock shadow.
I didn’t know who he was, but I knew he was important. Just by the way he sat there, like the entire world was at his feet.
It was after my lunch with Angie that I thought back to that night in the club. My mysterious man from the nightclub was Nico Morrelli. He fueled many of my fantasies before William and I got married.
Destiny.
My grandma believed in destiny. It sure felt like Nico was mine. The odds that we would have run into each other again should have been slim to none. Yet, here I sat in his mansion, as his wife.
Should I trust my destiny?I wanted to. After all, he saved my mother. Maybe he could protect all of us.
“There you are,” Nico’s voice startled me out of my memories.
He took a seat next to me before pulling me onto his lap. Without thinking about it, I wrapped my arms around his neck, soaking up his warmth and security.
He felt like my security blanket.
“Everything good?” I asked him.
“It will be.“ It sure sounded like a promise. He inclined his head and pressed his lips on mine. Immediately, my eyes fluttered shut, feeling delicious sparks sent through every cell of my body. “How is your mom?”
“She’s resting.” I snuggled deeper into his warmth. The man was a living, walking heater. “Thank you for saving her.”
“I’ll always save you, Cara Mia.”
I love this man.Was it supposed to happen fast like this?
I pushed my fingers through his dark hair. It was thick and soft. There were so many things I wanted to tell him, but I could sense he had a hard day already. It would have to wait a day. The troubles wouldn’t disappear and he needed rest.
“You were right.” I changed the subject. “I owe you principal on six hundred thousand dollars.”
He raised his eyebrow. “What made you think of that?”
I shrugged, letting my hand caress his scalp. “It popped in my head. You didn’t lie. I was an idiot.”
He took my face in his hand, bringing it close to his. “I will never lie to you. There might be information I omit, but I will never lie to you.”
I swallowed, feeling stupid. “I believed him when he said he ended it,” I murmured. Oddly enough, it didn’t hurt, and I suspected it had something with this man in front of me. “Don’t omit if you decide... to-” I stumbled over my words.
“I will never decide on any other woman. You are it for me, for the rest of my life.” He pressed a hard kiss to my lips. “And I better damn well be it for you, because I’ll kill any man that touches you.”
A hiccup escaped me and then a giggle. “So romantic.”
He grinned, and suddenly it made him look so much younger. “That’s me. Romantic kind of guy.”
Pressing my lips against his tan neck, I inhaled deeply. His scent had become such a familiarity. A comfort.
“You know the first time I saw you,” I started, pressing light kisses on his neck and then alternating to licks. “... was when I was nineteen, during my summer break.” He stilled and I sought out his eyes. “In a nightclub.”
“Yes?” he said tersely.
“Yeah. A group of us went dancing. Angie and I went to grab a drink,” I rolled my eyes at that. “She ditched me before we got to the bar area.”
“It was the first time I saw you too,” he confessed.Destiny. The word buzzed in my brain. “The moment I saw you, everything in me shifted.”
