Page 94 of My Monster’s Keeper
Stix grumbles and, with reluctance, lifts me off his cock and sets me on my feet. My legs feel slightly weak, and I find I immediately miss him inside me.
“Wilder?” Stix snaps and stalks into the backyard to deal with our demon boss.
Wilder appears with a blanket that he wraps around me. He picks me up and carries me deeper into the house. I quickly go to the bathroom and clean up, but I’m snatched up again as soon as I come out by the huge Fae who kicks open a door I’ve never seen before. It’s a beautiful room with black granite floors streaked with red and white veins. In one corner is a huge hammock and the deepest shadows. But it’s the massive bed at one end of the room that draws my attention.
It reminds me of a huge cave with a bed. Dark but full of interesting things. Wilder carries me straight to the bed and puts me into Frost’s waiting arms.
He rubs his fingers together and flips the blanket off me, straddling my waist. The Fae prince draws ice-cold fingers over my skin, leaving it blue and frozen. A moment later, he breathes on it, and I groan, thrusting up, unable to help my response. The skin comes back alive in a rush of painful pleasure.
Frost glances over his shoulder. “It works.”
“Told you,” Wilder says and points his hand at an empty space. He grunts, and huge vines erupt from the marble and wind around each other until there’s a massive throne where there was nothing.
“Wow,” I whisper, impressed despite myself.
Frost smirks. He holds out his hand to the opposite corner and another appears, this one made of ice with a burning flame captured in the middle. Both are as beautiful as the men who created them.
“Why are you creating thrones?” I whisper.
“This is our den,” Frost says as if that should make it all clear. Nothing is clear, I feel like telling them.
Puppy slithers into the room and glances at the thrones. He lets out a disgusted snort. I watch with interest as he crawls diagonally up the walls and flops into his hammock. I stand on the bed, peering in the space that he’s claimed as his.
“That looks comfy.”
Puppy bares his teeth. “Mine.”
I make a mewling sound that drags one of his eyes open. His scales rattle as he deliberately turns away from me, curling up tighter.
Spoilsport.
Stix walks in, and as soon as the doors are thrown open, the shadows stretch and shift, moving both away and to him. A black throne of smoke and shadows appears opposite the hammock.
Four thrones, I think absently, and my mind sharpens.
Stix moves to sit on his throne, while the other two move to their respective places as well. I kneel on the bed and watch them. There’s something almost ceremonial about what they’re doing.
“We have found a mate. A shared mate,” Stix says. “A human mate.”
I look between the three of them and then peer up at Puppy. He’s staring down at me with an inscrutable gaze.
“What’s going on?” I ask, but they’re silent.
I walk into the middle of their thrones and stare at Wilder. He nods at me, seeming to be pleased at my actions, even if I have no idea what.
“Are we in agreement?” Stix asks.
“Yes,” Frost says in a colder voice than I’ve ever heard, full of formality.
“Yes,” Wilder agrees with a hot glance in my direction.
“What is going on here?” I snap.
Puppy’s tail wraps around my waist and lifts me off my feet. I yelp as he drags me up into the hammock.
“Yes,” he hisses. He drags me under him until we’re lying face-to-face. He flickers into the human version of him and presses his lips to mine.
I freeze, and then I go up in flames.
