I t was weird. My side of the school decided we were just as guilty as whoever hurt Lola and Kira because we weren’t shunning Ivar, Ari, and Alexios.

Saffron wasn’t the only one who saw them at the pub.

Both sides of the school did before Liam started singing, either because they were giving them stink eye or just because all three guys were very pretty.

The supernatural side of the school that had been studying all this since they were kids knew I wouldn’t have screamed until the moment someone died. My side of the school seemed to think my banshee abilities were buffering, and I didn’t get the data until long after it happened.

They didn’t even seem willing to be corrected on the matter by me or talk to Khalid that Thor, Apollo, and the original bear shifter didn’t have the kind of magic that killed Kira.

Based on the crash course I was given, Apollo was a Sun God, so literally associated with light and Thor couldn’t do that.

It was this angry mob mentality where the only facts they were interested in were the ones Lola gave them. Lola’s story kept changing. They had to hear that, right? It was like they didn’t want to.

Now, I wasn’t just overly paranoid about these Forsaken Ones. I was paranoid about every single student on my side of the school.

“I’m not making excuses for them,” Morgana said.

“They don’t know most of this shit. I had an advantage in coming from a witch family and I already knew about all this stuff before I got here.

Professor Kane isn’t a reincarnation. She’s a really eccentric witch, but she knows her shit.

If she doesn’t set them straight in the morning, she will the second week. Oh, this is for you.”

Morgana handed me a pretty necklace and wriggled her eyebrows at me like I was supposed to know what it was for.

“Um, thanks?”

“So, first day of Arcane magic on this side of the school, Professor Gefn is going to be going over birth control spells. All of you thought you were human, so I’m guessing birth control advice from your parents ranged from condoms, pills, or in your case, keeping an Aspirin between your knees until you’re married.

The spell is easy, but takes time. I had a side hustle in high school selling birth control charms. I sell them here, too, but I like you, so yours is free.

I gave one to Iman, too, before she got stuck. ”

“Hey, what’s Blaize Vossen’s deal?”

Morgana shrugged.

“Supernatural royalty is a bit different from human royalty. They still have to obey most human laws, but they are actual rulers and not figureheads. Blaize gets most everything he wants and everyone kisses his arse. What’d he do this time?”

“I had a friendly conversation with him and then he sent me a dick pick.”

“Oh, yeah, I got one of those. Iman got stuck as a cat shortly after she got hers, so that might be why she’s stuck.

He sends them out like Yule cards like it’s not unwelcome and gross.

Elliot keeps fucking with him and Petros steals from him all the time, but even if we’re all reincarnated gods, you can’t punch that one in the face.

Or cut off his dick as a present, should your man like to do that kind of thing. ”

I groaned.

“I refused to tell them who sent the picture, but they dropped it way too easily. If Liam isn’t talking, he’s up to something.”

“Uh, hello. I’m dating the reincarnations of Loki and Hermes. You don’t have to tell me that.”

“We aren’t dating, though. I know we are connected. They are all deathly hot and I like what I know so far. We haven’t had time to date.”

“Pretty sure all this death is foreplay to some of your mates.”

“Think Lucian is going to sneak in again?”

“Definitely. I can’t believe he thought his clothes shifted with him when he turns into a bat.

That’s just a thing in movies to avoid nudity.

When you figure out how to turn into a crow, you’re going to want to stash clothes all over the grounds like the rest of the shifters.

You won’t be able to control it at first, so you might not want to fly super high when you fight. Figure it out.”

“I guess Lucian should keep some clothes in here. Do you mind he keeps sneaking in?”

“I think it’s hilarious. He made that big stink about wanting a single when he was awake, but he’s got other ideas in his sleep.”

“He has this thing about people touching him. I know it’s okay when he touches me, but how am I supposed to touch him back if we get to that point?”

“On his terms and not until he asks. He’ll get there.”

“How are we supposed to do this?”

“Listen, trust the adults with this. I know they kidnapped you and drugged you, but that’s the board, not anyone who works here.

You can’t get a job here unless you’re brilliant.

It doesn’t go to anyone just because of who they were in a previous life.

Professor Adamastus had to earn teaching defense and Professor Kane isn’t even a reincarnation, but she’s teaching them.

They’ve all been huddled together trying to figure this out, but you need to tell Headmaster Mykene about Alexios’s prophecy when you do your work study since he hasn’t been able to get to her. ”

Yeah, that part was weird. I thought I was going to be working in the kitchen or cleaning classrooms or something. All I knew was that I’d be paying for my education working with the headmaster.

Headmaster Mykene struck me as a woman who didn’t do anything without an excellent reason, so she was up to something.
