Lick her. Taste her. Own our omega.
My mischievous beta would not let me concentrate on a damn thing when the omega was within any distance of me. He was obsessed, and the rapid increase of his infatuation could be a problem in the future.
Calm down. We've got time. She's not going anywhere . I tried to reassure him as we watched our omega step down from the back porch, her palm shielding her eyes as she took in our land.
You hope.
His pessimism caused a growl to escape, and our omega's head whipped in our direction before she gifted me a smile. Damn, my soul nearly left me. My heart rate picked up and my palms began to sweat, even though the morning was cool.
"It's beautiful out here," our omega commented as she stopped in front of where I knelt.
"I wouldn't trade it for the world."
"I- I don't think I would either," she smiled softly to herself as she watched the mountain range in the distance.
"You know, a few times a month we get storms blowing through here. The wind whips everything about and causes the alpha to have mini panic attacks, but it's my favorite. There's nothing like the smell of fresh rain and the clapping of thunder in the dark of night."
Her beautiful eyes grew big. "Really?"
"Yes, really."
"I'd sure like to see that."
"I sure would like to show it to you," I confessed, and it was true.
I wanted to show her everything, be everything for her because even though we'd just met, I'd never had such a strong desire to take care of and coddle anyone before.
I knew it was the bond of an omega. That omegas entered your life, and you'd become powerless to their allure.
I just... I just never realized just how true it was.
She leaned over, picking up the basket of already harvested vegetables to shift through it, and her cherry lime scent slammed into my senses, making my beta groan and my whole body tingle with lust. Never had I loved the smell of cherries more than when it wafted toward me from her skin.
I let my eyes roam over her, bold in my actions but not caring. My gaze started at her cute little pigtail braids and ended at her boot-covered feet. I tilted my head, confused. "You have... boots?"
"So do you," she smirked, and I loved that she was messing with me.
"I just didn't expect you to have boots for the farm is all." Not only did she own boots, but they looked worn and used too. That fact piqued my curiosity, and I fought the urge to ask why her boots looked as used as mine.
"Can't wear stilettos while wading through manure," she paused for a moment. "To be completely honest with you, I can barely wear them on a leveled sidewalk."
"I thought you wore them just fine yesterday," I closed my eyes for a second, remembering the image of how good they looked on her.
"Anyone can wear a shoe from a car into a house," she shrugged, then she looked away from me as she said, "My old unit was disappointed in my stamina wearing heels.
They thought that in order to fit in with their crowd, to impress their peers, my outfits needed to be immaculate, and that included my footwear. "
"Honey, you can wear anything you want here, and I promise we won't say a word unless it's to compliment how delicious you look," I inhaled deeply. "Or how good you're smelling."
She blushed. "I wasn't looking for compliments."
"Doesn't mean I'm not willing to give them. I'm not a liar, omega. Anything I say to you I can promise will always be true."
Her smile was soft when she spoke again. "I hope you speak the truth."
I did, but no amount of words could convince her of such, only actions.
It would take time to prove to her, and in that time, we all needed to prove to James that this omega was ours.
Sure, we didn't buy her, but she was purchased for us, which is practically the same thing.
In less than a day, I found it impossible to imagine her with another unit, not when she smelled so completely ours.
She changed the subject quickly, "Where would you like me to start?"
"I had just worked on this bed, but let me show-"
"No disrespect, beta, but I can harvest and prune a vegetable garden."
My eyes widened in shock, "You can?"
"Of course I can," she bent over, pointing at various vegetables, "Those are ripe, whereas those need a little more time on the vine."
A loud whistle broke into our conversation, and I turned to see Leo walking on the other side of the garden's fence. "That is ripe, darling."
"Leo," I warned, and he only gave me a goofy grin.
"Ignore him," though his compliment on her bent-over ass had caused her whole body to flush. "We're wild animals out here."
At the reminder that we lived on a farm, her eyes lit up. "Can I see some?"
"See some? Honey, you can see some, pet some, feed some... do whatever your heart desires. We've got plenty to go around."
"Plenty?" She asked excitedly. "Like what kind?"
"Cows. Goats. Chickens. A few horses. And if you're fast enough, you might even catch sight of our barn cats."
"Cats!" The way her face lit up melted me.
"They don't like anyone, honey. Don't get too excited."
"It's my new mission to have them like me." And the way she held her shoulders, looking so confident that she could accomplish it, I'd believe she could do it too.
"Alright, well... let's finish today's harvest, and then we'll go search for the barn kittens."
"Kittens... there are babies?"
"A few of them, yeah."
She squealed; her excitement was so strong I felt it in the beat of my heart. Then she set about doing as she promised, pruning my plants, collecting fresh vegetables, and cleaning up the garden so damn well, I would have thought she was a professional.
"There!" I pointed out, a few hours later after I dragged her into the depths of our barn. "See it? A little orange ball. It's feral as hell, but so damn cute."
She stared at where I pointed for a solid thirty seconds, squinting hard, searching, until finally her eyes popped up and she turned, looking so damn excited. "I see it! The baby nearly blended in with the straw."
"There are more around here somewhere, but they are masters at hiding. But that's the only orange one."
"I'm going to catch it."
"Sophia," I grabbed her arm as she stepped forward. "You can't catch it. It's feral. It won't let you get within three feet of it."
"I'm going to catch it," she announced again.
"Honey..."
"If you catch it, you can keep it," Leo called as he walked through the barn door, his shirt off and tucked into his waistband, his arms bulging with the weight of feed bags.
"James would never let her keep it," I shook my head at Leo, trying to keep my eyes off the sweat rolling off his chest.
I failed, and he knew it, smirking at me as he repeated, "House rules, two against one."
"You're willing to pull a vote over a kitten."
"If it makes our girl happy, of course I am," he slumped the bag of feed on top of a pile that he had already carried in.
"Need any help?" I was slacking today, and they let me, but someone had to play tour guide and make our omega feel comfortable, and it was no hardship for me to volunteer.
"What's a vote?" The omega asked before Leo could answer me.
"Whenever there is something we know might be controversial, we vote between us to see if it's a go or not.
We take it very seriously, and it has to be something we're passionate about, or else a vote wouldn't really hold weight.
But for you, darling, I'm passionate enough to give you anything you want," Leo gave her a wink before continuing.
"Now, why don't you work on capturing your kitten while Bran and I finish unloading this truck? "
"Thank you," her eyes gazed softly at the kitten like us offering for her to keep one was the best thing that had happened to her, and it was because of us. It was that look alone that made a house vote worth it.
We waited until she plopped herself down a few feet from the orange ball of fur before we left the barn, going straight to the truck. Leo had unloaded a majority of it, but with my help, I'd hoped to have it done in only a few trips. I grabbed two bags, one for each shoulder, and hefted them up.
"Show off," Leo mumbled.
"I am not." But I was lying, and we both knew it. I knew the way he watched my biceps bulge, and it only encouraged me every damn time to do anything I could to display it.
"Don't worry, big boy, she'll see them just fine."
I rolled my eyes, "I'm not worried."
"Think our alpha will soften toward her?" Leo looked toward the barn where she was barely visible.
"I hope."
"She smells so damn good," Leo groaned. "I don't know how he can resist."
"She's sweet as her cherry lime scent too."
We stepped foot into the barn, spotting her with a kitten snuggled up to her cheek, and I fought all sorts of feelings that seeing her pour love into that baby caused. She would love our children just as well, I was sure of it. She'd be the perfect mother.
"How the hell did you catch it that fast?" Leo plopped the bag down, then stood with his hands on his hips, looking at our girl in awe.
"This baby?" She held it up. "She crawled up to me."
"You lie," I laughed. "There ain't no way. We've been trying to pick one of these cats up for ages."
"Omegas never lie," she said seriously, and while I don't know if that is the truth, I can appreciate the need for honesty in a relationship.
"Yeah, honey," I stepped closer, "I doubt you have a malicious bone in your body."
"Can I keep her?" She looked between us, her eyes bright as she brought the cat up to her lips and placed a tiny kiss on her head.
Yes. A hundred percent. Absolutely. No fucking way was I prying that cat from her fingers. Instead, I cleared my throat, working past the lump that seemed to be obstructing my ability to swallow, and spoke. "You're going to need to give that thing a bath before James sees it."
"Done," she jumped up, clutching the kitten tight as she leaned over and kissed my cheek, then Leo's, before skipping away, unaware of the frozen state she left us in.
I lifted my hand to my cheek. "I think I'm in trouble."
Leo exhaled. "We're both goners."
