Half-Hearted Resistance

Nico

One Month Later

Nico held Seb tightly, both of them totally naked.

Lately, this had become his favorite part, which would have completely floored the Nico from a few months ago.

It would’ve been utterly incomprehensible that he might come to enjoy the quiet moments between the peaks of pleasure more than actually getting off.

But he didn’t want to think too hard about the why. All he wanted to do was hold Seb’s sweaty little body tight and bask in every little twitch of his muscles as both of their heartbeats slowed and they stopped gasping for breath quite so intensely.

How many times had they fucked already? Nico hadn’t the faintest idea, only that each time was even more frantic, as if both of them were aware that things could end at any moment.

They’d given and received blowjobs in the comfort of his own apartment.

They’d fucked quick and fast in public bathrooms while on impromptu dates together, slipped into alleys to make out while Seb’s guards stood watch, and driven down the highway with Nico at the wheel and Seb hard at work with his head in Nico’s lap.

Just remembering them was enough to make Nico’s cock stir to life once more. He tensed for a moment, sure that the pressure against Seb’s backside would be enough to wake him up, but Sebastian did nothing but groan peacefully in his sleep.

He was always like this, falling asleep right after they fucked. In the past, this kind of behavior had annoyed and disgusted Nico, but from their very first night together, Seb’s sleeping face had been too wonderful to look away from.

It was beyond uncharacteristic, but Nico couldn’t help himself.

He poked and prodded at first, trying to make himself buy the lie that he was just toying with Seb.

But that soon turned into sensual caresses and loving strokes, worshiping his sleeping lover’s body when nobody would ever even know it had happened.

Just when had he turned so soft and sentimental? Probably from the very beginning, when he’d known that this had to end sooner or later. That had allowed him to indulge himself, and every day, it got worse and worse. He knew that he had to stop, but he didn’t know how.

The time of the graduation dinner was rapidly approaching. Time was running out if he wanted to break things off and accelerate the mission. He could abduct Seb at any point, even right this very second. It was a matter of one phone call to assemble his men for the job.

But he couldn’t bring himself to. Three months since starting this charade and he still couldn’t do it.

Seb began to rouse in his arms. This time, it wasn’t just a fitful burst. Nico had spent so much time feeling Seb sleep that he could immediately pinpoint exactly when the rise and fall of his chest turned from the depths of slumber to slow, steady rousing.

Maybe it would be for the best if Nico were to call the whole thing off. Maybe canceling the graduation dinner meeting would be better for everyone involved.

Truly, what would be kinder than slowly extricating himself from the boy’s life and saving both of them from what was coming?

There was no way to make the impending revenge painless, but he could at least make sure that it wasn’t going to be the most brutal, scarring day of Sebastian’s life.

And at the rate they were currently going, that wasn’t just a possibility but outright guaranteed.

Dios mío , when did he begin caring so damn much?

“Mmmm?” Seb murmured, smiling foolishly.

Him waking up was a sign. It had to be.

“Morning,” Nico murmured right back, leaning down and devouring a kiss full of morning breath and drowsiness.

Slowly, Nico sucked the sleep right out of his boyfriend.

Pretend boyfriend, he reminded himself once again. He was getting more annoyed with himself each time he made that mistake.

“What’s wrong?” Seb asked, resting his head on his pillow and nearly closing his eyes. He watched Nico from under heavy lashes that fluttered with every breath.

“Nothing’s wrong,” Nico lied as easily as he breathed.

“Hm.” Seb continued to watch him, clearly unconvinced. Then, he reached out and pushed his finger right into Nico’s cheek.

For a terrifying moment, Nico thought that his tactile explorations had been discovered. Had Seb woken up when Nico had been touching him during the night?

But Seb just smiled dreamily and rubbed with his finger, trying in vain to pull the corner of Nico’s mouth into a smile.

“Ah, I see the problem now,” he murmured, sighing and very nearly drifting off to sleep once more. “You don’t just frown with your mouth. You frown with your whole face, my Nico.”

That was more than enough to make Nico’s heart skip a beat. If he wasn’t careful, then this was going to go terribly, terribly wrong. He had to speak up before the very thought of parting from Seb became completely unbearable.

“You know, I was thinking about the dinner…” He trailed off meaningfully.

“The graduation dinner?” Seb asked without opening his eyes. “What about it?”

“I…”

Did he really want to break Seb’s heart by backing out now? Of course he did. Vengeance demanded it.

“I’m not sure it would be such a good idea if I went,” Nico continued. “I’m not sure I would really fit in.”

“Nonsense!” Seb cried out, bolting upright and clumsily grabbing Nico by the shoulder.

“You’re gonna have a great time! I know that you’re worried about this, but I promise that it will go absolutely swimmingly.

My father and you will get along. I think he’d like you very much at first sight, trust me. ”

“I… you’re probably right,” Nico said with a defeated chuckle. Yes, that was the right word for it. He had most definitely been defeated. He couldn’t possibly stand up to Seb’s infectious optimism, not now, not ever.

He knew that he was a coward. He knew that he should have pressed the issue, that he should have stood his ground, but it was too late now.

Was there any chance that Seb was right? Was there a chance that it actually could go well?

Of course not. There was no way in hell that Nico could come face-to-face with Pablo Altamirano and do anything but gut the man on the spot.

There was no way that this graduation dinner could end in anything less than disaster, but he was too much of a coward to tell Seb and break his precious innocent heart. For now, Nico would just have to share in the younger man’s delusion that everything would somehow work out.

Seb was watching him, but not saying anything. It was unsettling to realize that he might have learned just as much about Nico’s little quirks as Nico had learned about his.

Yes, this was getting far too dangerous, but that was a problem that could wait for another day. For now, he still had Seb within his grasp, and he wanted to make the most of every second they had left.

“I want you,” Nico whispered, the admission shocking him more than he was willing to admit. “I want you so fucking much right now.”

His fingers drummed a tempting beat up and down Seb’s ribs as Seb snuggled against him.

“And how do you want it, Sebby? Want to be be fucked face-down, your ass sticking up in the air like you’re an animal to be bred?

Or do you want to look into my eyes while I split you open and pump your asshole full of my cum? ”

“I want…” Sebastian murmured, moaning and whimpering as he struggled beneath the endless tactile assault. “I want…”

“Tell me what you want, Sebby.” Tapping fingers turned into grasping, clutching hands. “Just say the word.”

“You,” Sebastian gasped. “I want you.”

Nico chuckled and got even rougher, making Sebastian writhe in his grip. “Silly boy. You already have me.”

“No, not like that,” Sebastian forced out. “You have me, but I want you.”

It took a moment for his words to sink in, and Nico frowned as he turned them over in his head. All the while, he taunted and teased, finding every little weak point Seb had to offer.

“Ah,” he said at last with a wicked grin. “Do you mean that you want to be the one fucking me ?”

Seb shook his head. “Yes,” he said with such fierceness that Nico was taken aback. This was new. Seb usually went along with anything, he’d never hinted at wanting to top.

Nico never let someone else dominate him, not on the streets, and sure as hell not in the bedroom. And of all the people in the world who might be able to make him do it, Seb surely had to be at the very bottom of the list.

And yet…

“Alright,” Nico said with a shrug, but his heart pounded with something he didn’t want to name. “Why not? Let’s see if you can take me.”

Seb’s squeal of delight instantly put Nico off-balance. He’d been wanting to play this cool and to toy with the boy, but he couldn’t stop himself from grinning when he heard that young, pure delight in Seb’s voice.

“I’m gonna make you feel so good,” Seb giggled, but then caught himself and covered his mouth. Nico could visibly watch the boy’s progress in trying to get a grip on his overexcitement, and he was fighting an uphill battle.

But Nico allowed it to happen. Watching in amusement, he went along with Seb’s pitiful attempts to roll him onto his back.

He drank in the intoxicating smell of Seb’s sweat, along with the faint whisper of his lips as he mouthed silent words.

It almost looked as though he’d studied for this and was desperately trying to recall everything he’d learned. Knowing Seb, he had studied.

“Do you….” Seb looked away, blushing furiously. “Do you want to be on your back like this? Or on your hands and knees?”

Nico reached over and stroked Seb’s chin, forcing him to turn back and fight through the embarrassment.

“You wanted to be in charge, so decide what you want,” Nico said. “And then make me do it.”

Seb’s eyes glazed over as the possibilities struck him. Nico reached down and felt just how hard he was twitching and quivering in anticipation.

“Then I want you on your back,” Seb said.
