When he magically showed up with textbooks and a new schedule, he realized he hadn’t mentioned signing up for college classes. He’d spiraled into recriminations about how this was why he shouldn’t do relationships. My counterpoint was that going back to school wasn’t on the same level as adopting a puppy, but I was down for that too. His new schedule was something we’d figure out and work around. He wasn’t going to get rid of me that easily.
