Chapter eighteen
Broma
" S he's asleep," Pheyal stated happily.
"So is Vaquel," I added with my own yawn. I'd wetted my cock before, but I'd never bonded before her, and it was a completely different experience. "You were smart to wait for this," I confessed. "It's nothing like giving pleasure to another."
"It was my father who told me it is different and encouraged me to do what you have done so that I know the difference."
"But you didn't?" I asked him curiously. Now that we were part of a shared bond, I felt more comfortable asking him these things.
"I believed him, and I wished to wait until I felt the undeniable urge that a bond pulls you to complete.
It was so strong of a desire to have her so full of my seed that it overflowed from her.
It felt like my very heart couldn't be contained and it was my way of giving her my strength where she became the very essence of what held me together.
It was as my father described and better. "
"It is much better," I agreed.
"Don't leave," Vaquel mumbled as he nuzzled into our mate's legs, covering his ormete in the residue of my seed as he slept. Evie seemed to pat his head, comforting him, but her breathing was too deep to be awake.
"Will he be okay?" I wondered with concern.
"He still thinks of his blood brother, taken by slavers many stars ago..." Pheyal sighed. "It would break him to have this bond rejected after he was forced to bond with the trill and then rejected for your safety in the Blue District. Too much for someone as sensitive as him."
"Vaquel?" I chuckled at the idea of such a strong male being sensitive, but I understood what he meant by too much loss for any warrior to take. It was a terrible feeling when I felt the ache of Evie leaving for the first time. If she left again, it would be the death of me.
"He is more growl than bite," Pheyal replied with a shared rumble that made our mate groan. We both stilled, not wishing to wake her.
"In the morning, I will meet with the commander to come to an agreement that I'm sure will be acceptable after showing him my mating mark."
"I request to join you, just in case they choose to duel.
I won't allow you to be harmed before completing the bonding with our mate.
The first seed is to bond. The second seeding will allow her to hold our offspring.
She will need to be carrying your second seed to bond permanently and for the clans to accept her, and.
.." he stopped himself. This was the most he'd spoken to me in one conversation.
"We are brothers," I reminded him.
He kissed the top of Evie's head and his ormete wrapped within her dark, silky hair.
"And I don't want the same rivalry you share with your own blood brother to happen to our offspring."
My mouth was suddenly dry and uncomfortable. My brother Braukan was my younger brother, second offspring of our mother, meaning I am the only offspring that any unGor knows for sure who's seed fathered me.
Pheyal added quickly in my silence, "I know it has always been done to have the first offspring be from the first bond, but I wish to add my seed to yours so our offspring will not feel pressured to fulfill a commission, or our future offspring to resent them for simply being born first. It is our legacy to make, if we wish it to be. "
He was right. Braukan might not have been as dedicated to destroying me if he felt he was more equal to me.
But being the first offspring, and the only offspring that anyone knew for certain was that of a great commissioner, who only lived long enough to have me before he died on a mission to Delta Fal.
Commissioner Gelbrauk. I was named after his father, and because of his death, my mother named her next son Braukan to memorialize him, even though he was not his offspring.
"My father was a great male, so I'm told."
"He was. He was alive during the first trill visit.
It was because of him and your mother that we established policies to work with them while maintaining our own laws.
If it weren't for them, my father said we would have been nothing more than a memory, like that of the Shol.
Or slaves to do their dirty work, like that of the necia. "
"We will have to lie until Braukan stops campaigning against me."
"But you will not claim first offspring?"
"Our offspring is more likely to be from my seed regardless of if you add your own seed, but you know this already," I reminded him of what we were both agreeing to.
"But we can still tell all our offspring that the first born is just as likely to be from either of our seed. It should ease their struggles."
"I will support it with Evie's consent."
"Understood." Pheyal yawned, and we both silently agreed it was time to allow sleep to take us.
This was a feeling I never wanted to lose.
My delegate, surrounded by those who would die to protect her and bring her happiness.
I nuzzled into her neck and felt Pheyal's ormete warm against my own as we shared tangling up in her black mane.
Vaquel's butt adjusted against my leg, as Evie's leg moved to drape over his shoulder.
The air smelled of our bond, and I smiled.
This was everything.
