Olivia

later, Oliver reached out to Alessio, who agreed to have the meeting. I don't know what Oliver told him that he wanted to meet about, but whatever it was, it worked.
Today is the day, it's showtime. Oliver is in our kitchen, going over last-minute details before he goes to this meeting to hopefully get the information we need to finally fucking put a bullet in each of the Starr brothers’ heads.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't a paranoid wreck, and still being sick as shit from pregnancy isn't helping anything right now.
"Oliver, please be safe. You have your bracelet on you, right?" He walks around the counter and pulls me into a hug. I instantly melt in his touch. I know that he is my twin, so we are the same age, but I still worry about my brother every minute of every day.
"Liv, I never take my bracelet off." He clicks the button on the top of his bracelet, and mine glows green.
It's a long-distance bracelet that has tracking devices in it. I got us when I moved out here. I don’t check it often unless I feel like something is off with him.
Of course, the stakeout was the first time I took it off and forgot to put it back on, and it happened to be the time I got captured. I have never taken it off since.
"I am glad you don't, because the one time I did..." Oliver grabs my face with both of his hands.
"Stop. We are not living in the past. We are O'Connors. We don't let the past dictate our future." I nod in agreement, a tear running down my cheek.
"For now." I hear Alex mumble behind us, and I can't help the cheesy smile that is now plastered on my face.
"Well, I don't see a ring on her finger. So she is still an O'Connor and will always be an O'Connor by blood." Alex shakes his head with a slight smile on his face. “I’m just giving you shit, don’t bite my head off, Oliver.”
Oliver turns to Alex and puts his hands on the counter, slightly leaning forward. His suit jacket hangs forward, and his red hair is styled so that only a couple of strands fall on his forehead. He looks like he’s ready to attend a formal event, not just a meeting with an Italian mob boss.
Alex pulls Rachel and me to the backyard.
The wind is chilly for San Diego in winter, but it's still warm for the most part outside.
I mean, it's Southern California; it's always hot here, unlike back home in New York, where there's snow.
I can't believe it's almost Christmas already, and I still don't know what to get anyone.
Christmas has always been a very important holiday in my family. We always go big.
Alex stops in the middle of the yard and turns to us.
"I know you were not in a good place for your birthday, so we will make that up to you after all of the holidays. Your birthday is important to us, and you will not be overshadowed by Christmas or New Year's." I am looking at him, trying to figure out where he is going with this.
"But that's not why I brought you two here. While we have a few seconds of downtime, because that's all we will have, I wanted to bring you both with me to figure out some things." I am still trying to stay patient while he explains.
"Holy shit, Alex, spit it the fuck out already! I have never seen you ramble this much before." Rachel beat me to it. I have never seen Alex this nervous before.
"Fine, impatient ass. Way to make this a whole lot less memorable!" Alex turns around and walks over to the big cherry blossom tree in his backyard and bends down on one knee.
"What are you doing?" I ask, my mind going a thousand miles an hour.
"Olivia and Rachel, I met you both in the most bizarre ways possible.
I didn't realize at that moment that I would catch the feelings I did.
" He turns and looks at me. "Olivia, who would have thought that I would have fallen for the officer who arrested my best friend?
" He then turns to Rachel, "I would have never guessed I would have been asked to stay at a hospital with a woman I didn't know, and end up falling head over heels for her.
" He then pulls out a big ring box and opens it.
In the box are two beautiful rings. The first one is a rose gold ring with a twisted oval ruby with white round diamonds on each side. It is incredibly gorgeous and elegant. It reminds me of Rachel so much that I start to tear up. Then it finally clicks in my head. This man is proposing to us.
The second ring is a beautiful silver band with an emerald-cut emerald halo with twisted shank. As soon as I realized that ring was for me, the flood gates opened, and I am now crying like a blubbering mess—stupid pregnancy hormones.
"Will both of you beautiful ladies be my Mrs. García?" I nod my head in response, trying to wipe the tears from my eyes. I turn to look at Rachel, who is just sitting there with her mouth wide open, completely shocked. I reach up and push her jaw closed and smile at her.
"Of all the times to propose, you choose right before a damn war?" Rachel says with a giggle. I know she's joking, but damn, she can kill the mood sometimes.
Alex stands up and walks towards her, grabbing her by the throat and pulling her chest into his.
"Listen here, brat, I will propose to my women whenever the fuck I want.
And that day just so happens to be today.
It would have been more romantic had someone not rushed me.
" I am full-on belly laughing now. These two have been bantering so much recently, and it is the funniest thing to see.
"I wouldn't have rushed you had you spit it out and stopped babbling." The sass is just flowing out of Rachel's mouth.
Alex pulls her mouth to his and kisses her hard and demanding.
There it is! He is done with her smart mouth. I am still laughing when they break off the kiss.
"So, I got my answer from Olivia through her tears. Can I please get your answer, Muneca?" Alex's voice cracks. You can tell that he is nervous and trying to stay calm during all of this.
"Yes, Alejandro Lopez García, I will marry you." I see Alex flinch a little at the use of his full name, but he recovers quickly. He stands up, wraps Rachel in a huge hug, and spins her around. When her feet hit the ground, he turns towards me and smiles.
"Come here, Azúcar." He opens his other arm to me, and I just snuggle my way into the mix.
I look up at Alex and smile at him. My heart is so full.
I don't know how the three of us will get married, but we will make it happen regardless.
"I love you," I whisper to him. I place my head on his chest and grab hold of Rachel to bring her closer to me.
This is my family, and I will do anything for them.
