“I get that,” Seth said. “It feels good to help people.”

“I started really thinking about that,” I told him. “It felt good, like I’d actually made a difference in someone’s life. So…”

I got up and went over to my bookshelf. I took out a brochure I’d swiped from the college’s career center. I handed it to Seth. He glanced down at it. A smile spread across his face.

“I’m switching my major to Education,” I told him. “I want to be a teacher.”

Seth looked up from the brochure to beam at me.

“I always wanted to be living this cool, awesome life like my sister,” I continued. “But that’s not me. That’s not who I am. This?” I tapped the brochure with my finger. “I think this is who I can be. This is who I want to be.”

Seth’s eyes were gleaming. He tugged me into his arms and onto his lap.

“I think that’s a wonderful idea,” he said.

He brushed my long hair away from my face, tucking it behind my ear.

“I have to tell you something,” he said, looking serious.

I took his face in my hands.

“You can tell me anything,” I replied.

“I love you, Abby,” he said. There was no hesitation, no uncertainty.

Tears stung the back of my eyes.

“I love you, too,” I replied.

Seth pressed a slow kiss to my lips. I returned it, leaning into him, breathing in his delicious scent. His hand tangled in my hair, tugging me closer.

“We should be studying,” I said in between kisses.

“Fuck studying,” he said.

“What kind of teacher would I be if I let you get away with slacking off?”

“How about you let me be the teacher for today?” he murmured into my mouth.

My insides fluttered and pulsed at the heat in his voice.

Seth gave me a wicked smile as he tumbled me down onto the cushions and covered me with his body. He stared down at me, his green eyes sparkling.

“After all, I’ve still got so much more to teach you.”
