Carter laughed. Between them, they had more than enough money to live on the rest of their lives and still have another lifetime's worth left when they died. "Yeah, money isn't an issue for me either. Maybe we should think about spending some a little more often now that we have someone to enjoy it with."

"I like that idea."

"Me too." Carter smiled, feeling as if the weight from his chest was gone. He'd been holding so much in for so many years, he'd forgotten what it was like to be free.

"And the meeting with the team?" Archer asked.

"It's going to be interesting. I want to formally introduce you. I know you've met most of the team already, but I want this official so that there is no question of you being around the house with me when I'm there. I'm also making some changes they might not like, but it needs to be done."

"I'll support you no matter what," Archer told him.

"And I you. Once I get tomorrow over with, we can focus on us. I just need to speak to the team first. I don't know how I'll ever thank Xander for all he did for me. I owe him so much. He saved my ass, plain and simple."

"Someday he'll need something and you'll be there. Oh, and I might have agreed to take Faith to Disneyland soon. She overheard that I was thinking about it before, but now she insists. She says you and I are going to take her and all the other kids one Saturday."

"All of them?" Carter groaned.

"Are there a lot?"

"Faith, then Beau has two, and Noam and Kasey have one. So four, I guess."

"We can handle that, right?" Archer looked nervous.

"We might have to get the whole team to go with us. Make it a mandatory mental health day." Carter laughed.

"I love the way you think."

"Good, because I'm thinking a good movie, cuddle on the couch, then early to bed. I'm exhausted." Carter took a bite of his food, happy that things were going so well.

Once he got the conversation tomorrow out of the way, it was clear sailing ahead. He could hopefully put the past behind him and push forward into the future, leaving his pain behind them.
