"This is better than Google Earth." Archer leaned forward. "You can see everything."
"And we haven't even gotten as close as we can." Carter hit a couple of buttons, taking them in closer until they could make out the flowers sitting along the wrap-around porch.
"Holy fuck. You can make out what kind of flowers they are." Archer sat back in shock.
"Now, if I pull this up." Carter turned to another computer and pulled up another program, then entered the address again. "We can see heat signatures inside the home." He typed a few things, then clicked on a few other, then slowly the image became clear. "See that, I'd guess that's an older female from the looks of it."
"How can you tell?" Archer asked.
"I've been doing this so long I'm usually able to discern the shape and build of the image. I've been wrong before, but not often." He moved the camera so they could see more. "There." He pointed. "That looks like a male." He watched for a minute, but was unable to tell what he was doing. He moved the camera around more, then stopped, not shocked when Archer, Matt, and Trenton all gasped.
"The kids." Archer gripped the edge of the desk.
"That would be my guess." Carter hated the feeling in his gut every time he saw images like this. It looked as if there were several… He counted them. "Seven girls in what looked like a bunkhouse off to the side of one of the barns." Going back to the satellite image, he moved it around until he had the same area in view. "Look at the lock on the door, and the windows are all covered." Carter moved the camera around.
"We got him." Archer slapped Carter on the back. "We fucking found him."
Carter nodded, but he was numb. There was no excitement, no sadness, no anger. He was feeling nothing as he stared at the heat signatures moving around inside the small building. He needed to work this just like he would any other case. He needed to think like he did when he was sending the team in to take care of things. He couldn't let his personal feelings lead him on this. He took a deep breath and started to print out images of the area so they could create a sort of map to make sure they were aware of everything in the area and on the property. The more information they had, the easier this was going to be when the time came for him to go in.
He ignored Archer and the others as he focused on working through the cameras, memorizing everything he could as he searched.
Nothing was going to stop him from taking this bastard down, and he was going to go in knowing exactly where everything and everyone was. This was what he'd spent so many years waiting for, and nothing was going to fuck it up.
