“No, but he was married twice before my mom. I have five other half siblings kicking about somewhere in the world.”
“You never tried to meet them?”
“No.”
“That’s sad. I can’t imagine having brothers and sisters in the world and not talking to them, let alone not knowing them.”
“Yeah.” His gaze falls down to his lap. “It is pretty shit, but I made my own family. West, Ash and Trey are like brothers to me. They can be assholes, but I love those dudes.”
“Awww,” I say, melting once again into my seat. “You’re so sweet.”
“I am not.”
“Like a sugar filled dumpling.”
“There’s no such thing as sugar-filled dumplings.”
“There should be.” I yank the blanket over my shoulder. “Is there anything else I should know? About your family? Or other info a girlfriend ought to know about?”
He thinks about this. “No, I left home as soon as I turned 18. I’d saved up money street performing and doing gigs and stuff, bought my plane ticket to LA and the rest is history.”
“I don’t think I’d ever be brave enough to do that.”
“You’re flying across the world now with a man you only met a few months ago.”
“I feel like I’ve known you longer,” I confess.
His eyes flick to mine. “Is there anything I should know about you? Anything that’s going to catch us out?”
“Well, you know I love romance and music, you know I live with my mom and grandma. I’m not sure there is anything else to know. I’m pretty dull.”
“You’re not dull, Isabella.”
I grin at him. “You really are very charming when you’re not scowling.”
“I’m not trying to charm you. I’m being honest.”
“Still … oh, I thought of something. I pee in the shower.”
“You are a freak.”
“Yep, and you’re contractually obliged to date me for another week, so joke’s on you, sucker.”
He shakes his head at me with an indulgent smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“Oh one other thing you ought to know, my favorite all time band isThe Clouds.”
“Omega,” he growls, launching at me and tickling.
My uncontained giggles cause the other people in first class to turn and stare at us, one or two tutting in our direction. They turned the lights down low and it’s dark in the airplane, the sky black with night outside the windows.
Hunter nuzzles into my ear.
“I’m finding it damn near impossible to keep my hands off you, Cupcake.”
“Then don’t,” I breathe back in his ear.
“I promised Kim.”
