“The team that was with Kyrous. Do we know if they were in Trieneliea when Kyrous went missing or were they scouting in another realm?” Griff clarifies.

“I have absolutely no idea,” I reply. “I don’t think anyone told us that.”

The others all shrug or shake their heads, that they don’t know either.

“What are you thinking?” Coen asks curiously.

Griff’s frown deepens, “I feel like we owe it to him to find out what happened to him. Not assumptions, but actually know for sure how he died, and maybe even where he’s buried.

Not that it’s likely he was buried actually, so that’s a long shot and probably not a very realistic thing to want to do. ”

“No, that’s probably not possible, but it should be easy enough to find out where they were sent scouting. If it wasn’t in Trieneliea, then we could possibly go to the realm that they were in and find out what we can,” Raiden replies, his eyes lighting up with the prospect.

“I love a mystery, and this would be a good cause. A lot of people cared about Kyrous, and I think that they would all be happy to know what happened to him,” River adds.

Coen nods, “I think it’s a really good idea, and I doubt that Ty would mind us taking some time off to go and find him. Especially since he was Kyrous’ second in command.”

I shake my head, “We won’t be able to tell him that we’re going to find Kyrous. At least I don’t think we will.”

“He’s right. Ty brought up Kyrous when we were on the phone with him, and neither of us could say anything about him. We couldn’t tell Ty that Kyrous was supposed to be on our team,” Evander explains.

“Oh, the silencing spell that was on the chamber,” Coen replies with a frown. “It might not apply to this though. We won’t be telling Ty that Kyrous is supposed to be on our team, we will be going to locate him. Although trying to explain why we would want to do that may be complicated.”

“You’re right, but I think that we could probably come up with a plausible reason between us,” Neith agrees.

“I guess the first thing to do would be to see if we can talk to Ty about Kyrous and ask questions. So that we know what the silencing spell covers,” Evander says, the wheels in his head turning.

“If we can do that, and it turns out that Kyrous wasn’t in Trieneliea, then it would be a good indicator that we can ask to go there and find out what happened,” Raiden says, thoughtfully.

“We could maybe use the vision thing that we had in Ireland to explain why we want to go,” Griff suggests.

Before Coen can ask, I quickly explain the vision, so he does feel like he’s missing huge chunks of information, even though it’s becoming increasingly apparent that we have left out quite a bit.

“Thanks, man,” Coen grins. “At some point, I’ll be all caught up.” He looks at Griff, “I think that’s probably the best way to explain why we want to go after Kyrous if we can’t tell Ty the truth.”

Reed nods, “Agreed.”

Evander sighs, “Okay, so we’re agreed that at some point we want to go after Kyrous and see what we can find out, but I also think that we need to put it on hold for the time being.

We have some other things that we need to deal with that need to be our top priority.

Neith and her new magic, Pete, the Blue Fucker and the hybrids, and there is so much research that we need to go through as well. ”

“Like the Elder’s and the unicorn mark thing,” Raiden adds. “There’s more, but those are the ones that are at the top of the list, underneath finding out what we can about angels.”

“I still can’t wrap my head around the whole unicorn thing,” Coen says, staring at the bracelet on Neith’s wrist. She showed him the mark when she was explaining about it. “I thought that they were a myth.”

“I’m pretty sure we all thought that to be honest,” River agrees, “but if anyone was going to meet a unicorn and get a mysterious mark from it, then it was going to be Neith.”

“Absolutely,” I agree wholeheartedly.

Neith frowns ever so slightly, looking absolutely fucking adorable as she asks, “Should I be offended by that?”

“Definitely not, Love,” Coen replies, as he drops a kiss onto the top of her head that instantly wipes away her frown, and replaces it with a soft smile instead.

“Alright, getting back on track,” Evander grins. “Are we all agreed that we’re going to wait to look into Kyrous until we have dealt with some of our more pressing matters?”

“Yeah, I think that’s the way it’s going to have to be,” Neith agrees. “I want to go and find out what happened to him right now. But the logical side of me knows that isn’t the best idea, and that we need to sort out other things first.”

Neith

T he need to find out what really happened to Kyrous is pretty fucking strong, but it can wait. It’s going to have to. Looking around at the others, it actually makes me feel better to know that they all appear to feel the same way that I do, and that they are struggling with it as well.

“Agreed,” Reed replies.

We’re all silent for a moment. My mind moves to Kyrous, we have no idea what he even looks like, and it fascinates me that despite not even knowing the basic things about him, just how much that it matters to me that we find out what happened to him.

“When did you guys speak to Ty?” Raiden asks suddenly in the silence.

I’m more than glad to be pulled from my thoughts. Kyrous makes me feel sad, and then it gets complicated.

Doc grins, and reaches into his back pocket, “Shit, I got immediately distracted when I came back, and I completely forgot to give you these.”
