Carter
I haven't taken my eyes off her all day.
I know today is meant to be about the bride, but as those doors opened and everyone turned to look at Autumn, my eyes didn't leave her best friend.
I’m not ashamed to admit I raked my gaze up and down her body. That beautiful, blue, sparkly dress hugging every inch of her curves.
Every time she moves, the sunlight beaming in through the windows catches on the sparkles and makes her glow like the angel she is.
The split in the side of the dress ends at her mid-thigh, and I swallow as my gaze lands on that exact spot, wondering what goes beyond that split.
If possible, Alice Barretta looks even sexier than she usually does. And if I don't stop looking at her, I am going to be tenting my pants any second now.
She briefly glances in my direction, but I avert my gaze so she doesn't catch me staring at her. But when I look back, her piercing eyes are looking straight back into my own.
She gives me a small smile and wave, which I return.
I wouldn't say Alice and I are friends exactly, but since Autumn and Sawyer became a couple, we've hung out together as a group of four at least once a month.
I don't know a lot about her, and she knows just as much about me.
We've never spent long enough together to know more intimate details about each other's lives, but I would be lying if I said I hadn't thought about getting to know her more.
Alice is electric, and she makes people come to life when she enters a room.
She also gives me a raging boner.
I shift where I stand, willing said boner to fuck off, and it doesn't take Alice long to spot my predicament.
We are lined up standing next to each other now, waiting for Autumn to walk down to aisle to my brother, and she nudges me in the rib.
"You okay there, buddy?" She tilts her head and glances momentarily at my crotch, grinning as she looks back to my face. Any attempts to stop myself from going red are marred.
Autumn is standing next to Sawyer at the altar now, and Jed, her dog, is between me and Alice.
"Aww, Carter, is there something in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me?" she teases, and Autumn's dog head butts me straight in the nuts.
I want the ground of this stuffy room to open and swallow me whole.
But instead of saying "Yep, I’m just pleased to see you, and I keep thinking about the promised land between your legs and how I want to drown in it," I go with the fail safe: "Definitely not pleased to see you.
You're a pain in my ass. It's the rings, okay. "
" Yeahhh , sure it is, big guy." She snickers.
