O n the podium, I could hear one voice standing out. When it quieted for the announcements, my favorite tiny was cheering my name.

“Alex!”

I looked down to see her, the miniature version of her mother. The biggest smile on her face I had ever seen. I wanted to win every race to earn that smile.

I wanted to stay in this moment forever.
