“The perfect cockblock.” Hunter leans back and crosses his arms over his chest, satisfied as hell with his plan. If only he knew he put me directly into the lion’s den.

“Was it though?” I look over to Coop, finally joining the conversation, and his eyes are trained on Rome, bouncing to me for the briefest moment.

“I’m over you guys. I’m going to get another beer.”

I spin on my heel and head over to Jasmine.

I’m tired of them already. Especially Rome.

I know I told him that I wasn’t going to push him, and I’m not, but geez, he doesn’t need to agree and goad on my brothers with his comment about not bringing anyone back to his house. Like I’d ever fucking do that!

A heavy thud sounds from the right side of the bar near where I’m standing. I look over and see Rome.

“Sunshine, I didn’t mean it like that,” he whispers to me.

“It’s fine Rome.” I give him a curt platitude. I’m a little mad, probably more than I should be. Jasmine hands me my beer, “Thanks Jasmine!”

I flounce back off to the dance floor. Violet can join me or not, I just don’t want to be near my brothers or Rome.

I spot a couple girls dancing on a table and I decide to join them. Willow’s crooning about a broken heart and having your girls around you to help you get over it. It’s only fitting that I join the group who are screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs with the talent of a dying cat.

As is the case with drunk girls, I’m immediately folded into their group.

We all shake our hips to the songs and scream along with Willow.

She must be testing out one of her mentee’s songs, because I know damn well she isn’t experiencing the heartbreak she’s singing about, and if she is, I’ll be the one to get on G instead of him trying to protect me. I’ll take him out for hurting Willow.

One minute, I’m dancing, and the next I’m dangling over someone’s very large and broad shoulders. The scent of sandalwood, which I know because it envelops me daily in the shower, gives away the owner of this body.

“Roman, put me down!” My protests are drowned out by the sound of the music, so I add in a few light punches to his rock hard ass for added effect.

I lift my head to see that we’re walking down the hallway to his office.

He stops, I assume to open his office door.

He rips it open and then slams it shut before he drops me to my feet and crowds into my space.

He pushes me against the cold metal door with his hard body.

His thick legs encompass my bare ones, his hands are on either side of my face, cupping each cheek.

“What are you doing out there, Sunshine? Are you trying to kill me?”

“No. I was just dancing,” I say breathlessly.

“Dancing on a table, with the drunkest girls in my brewery, and moving your body in a way that has every man out there entranced with you. Including me. I can’t fucking take all those eyes on you, Sunshine. You’re mine.”

“Am I, Stud?”

“You fucking are, is this what you want? You want me out of my mind, desperate to touch you?”

I don’t get the chance to answer before his mouth slams into mine.

His tongue pushing its way to tangle with mine.

He reaches around the back of my neck, gripping the hair at the base of my neck and pulling just enough that I’m forced to look up at him.

His other hand goes to my neck, applying the pressure he knows I love so much.

A moan escapes my lips and my knees go weak.

He pushes his chiseled abs into me to hold me tighter to the wall.

“You’re mine, Sunshine. Say you know it too.”

“I’m yours, Stud. Only yours.” I rock my hips into his cock, letting him know that I want him to keep going.

He grabs me by my ass and pulls me up his body. I wrap my legs around his waist and he carries me to his desk and places me on top of the paperwork we were working on days ago.

Yes. I’ve waited too long for this.

“Tell me what you want. You want my cock inside you? Or my fingers?”

“Cock. Right now.” I reach down, fumbling with his zipper.

I finally free him when the office door slams open with a thud on the wall.

“Are you fucking shitting me?” A loud voice booms.

“Hunt. It’s not what it looks like.” Rome is trying to shove his dick back in his pants, and I’m once again cockblocked by my brother.

“Your hands are on my sister, and your fucking cock was out. Tell me how it isn’t what it fucking looks like, Roman.” Hunter is advancing on us quickly.

I hop off the desk and stand between him and Rome.

“Hunter. Stop. This is enough. I love Roman, this isn’t a one time thing.” I hold my hands up, realizing this is the first time I’ve admitted that out loud.

“Isn’t a one time thing? Tell me you haven’t fucked my sister before, Rome. Tell me this isn’t you going behind my back and fucking my goddamn sister!”

“I can’t tell you that, because it is that.

But I love her too. I love her so much and I’ve been trying to tell you for days, but something has always gotten in the way.

” He places his hands on my hips, a dangerous move given the situation.

I don’t miss the way he still hasn’t come out from behind me.

“You love her? You fucking love my sister! Fuck you! You shouldn’t have been close enough to love her.

Not as anything more than another sister!

And that thing that’s been in the way, is your daughter .

The daughter you had because you were fucking another woman.

So how long have you been in love with my sister if you were fucking someone else a year ago.

” Hunter’s vein in his neck is twitching, and his eyes are almost completely black.

“Hunter, stop. Listen to Roman. Please.” I start to walk around the desk when all my other brothers walk in the office.

“Get. Out. Now.” Hunter looks at me as he clearly pronounces each word.

“I’m not fucking—”

“It’s okay. Go ahead, I can handle this.” Roman gives me a slight nod and smile.

Cooper steps forward and reaches out for my hand. “Come on, Ems. Let’s go get another beer. I feel like you have a lot to catch me up on.”

My eyes bounce between Hunter and Rome. “Hunter, if you hurt him, I’ll—”

“You’ll what Ems? Tell Mom? I’m pretty sure she’d be right behind me,” Hunter threatens without ever breaking eye contact with Rome.

“I wouldn’t be so sure.” With that I step toward Cooper and let him lead me through the group of my brothers with Violet standing outside in the hallway.

“Ems, I’m so sorry. I tried to stop them, so did Mom.” She leans forward hugging me tight.

“Thanks, but it was bound to happen. I’m shocked they haven’t picked up on it in the last year.” I try to act nonchalant but my heart is racing a million beats per minute.

“A year! Holy hell. I really have missed a lot.” Cooper leads both of us down the hall and back to the bar, signaling Jasmine.

He orders our beers and then we head back to the table with Mom and Pops.

Mom takes in my face, and she knows. “Oh dear, I take it the boys know?”

“You knew! I’m never going on assignment again, I miss all the gossip.” Coop pouts next to me as I file into the booth.

“What gossip?” Pops’ attention is now back on us from the stage.

“Pops, I was dating Roman Thomas. I had been for a while, until he ended things so he could tell Hunter. Then Olivia came around. And well, now Hunter knows. It’s not good.” It feels good to confess it all now that it’s out in the open.

“That’s gossip? I thought we all knew and just weren’t acknowledging it because it was weird that Hunter hadn’t caught on?” He looks around confused at the four of us sitting here.

My mouth drops open, “How did you know?”

“Honey, that boy’s face gives him away. Why do you think I pushed so hard for you to help him?” A slow smile spreads across his face, “Besides, it will be kind of fun to watch Hunter eat his words as the meddler he is in your life. He pushed you right into Rome’s arms.”

For the first time I chuckle along with Pops. It is kind of funny now that I think about it that way.

“Ugh, I made such a mess. I should have just stopped Roman and let him have the time he wanted to tell Hunter, when the time was right and things had settled down.”

Cooper reaches over and puts his arm around my shoulders. “He’ll get over it. I can’t think of a better man for you than Roman. And if it’s not him, I’d rather it be no one, but I think you might take my balls if I made that happen.”

I glare at him and he smirks back. “You’re right. What do you think Hunter is doing to him back there?”

Pops taps Mom on the shoulder and they both slide out before she slides back in by herself.

“I got this. Sounds like a Pops talk is needed.”

He walks away down the hall we just came from. Pops doesn’t talk much, so if he does you sure as shit listen.

Not more than five minutes later, Hunter storms out the front door of the brewery with the other guys following behind.
