My lips almost curled.I’m all right for now, but thank you.
Okay, but even stubborn Alphas need to eat, Cillian.
The only thing I want to eat right now is you, Vana,I answered before I could stop myself.
A loud clatter drew my gaze to her at the table where she was apologizing for dropping her fork.
My lips truly curled now.Careful, love. You’re supposed to be calming the Omegas, not startling them.
Cillian, she practically growled into my mind, causing my smile to grow. You can’t… don’t… ughhh.
I can’t what? Eat you?I canted my head a little.Pretty sure I could devour you, macushla. Several times.
Stop,she hissed.You’re distracting me.
Hmm, I’m quite familiar with the problem,I drawled.Very pleased to return the favor now.
She growled again but didn’t say anything. Out loud, she was asking Ashlyn about the notebook on the table. The Z-Clan Omega murmured something about it being her doodling journal.
“The real ones are… well, I already told you about all that. Hopefully, you remember,” Ashlyn concluded.
I almost interjected again, just to make Ivana blush once more, but I decided to let her be.
Because she’d been right—now wasn’t the time for this.
Maybe later.
Or maybe never,I thought, my smile disappearing as I ran a hand over my face.
I had a job to do first.
Then… then I would… figure this shit out.
PART FOUR
Dear Stars,
Alas, I’m on the plane again, heading home to Blood Sector.
Honestly, this all feels very strange. I… I don’t really know what to say other than that. Mostly because my solace and peace are being interrupted by an interloper.Ashlyn. Yeah, I see you looking over my shoulder. Why are you intruding?—
Ivana,
Has anyone ever told you it’s rude to write about other people? I’ve been told that. Though, I suppose, sometimes it’s necessary. Sometimes it helps. And sometimes it hurts. Of course, you don’t know what I mean yet. Alas, you will.Soon.
Please don’t forget what I’ve told you. Under the floorboards, Ivana.
Oh, and tell Cillian that a new life is more important than an old one. I’ll be fine.
Sweet dreams (or is it all real?),
Ashlyn
Stars…Or should I just write this to you, Ashlyn?
I don’t even know what to say to any of that. So I’m closing my journal now.
Ivana
