We’re definitely going to need it.

CHAPTER THREE
IVANA
A Few Weeks Later
Ivana Michaels.
Eligible Omega Mate.
I stared down at the card in my hand, my throat suddenly dry.
I can do this,I told myself.Just step out onto the stage, smile, and maybe wave.
No. No waving.
Well, maybe waving?
I shook my head, the conflicting thoughts making me dizzy as Queen Quinnlynn—who preferred to be calledQuinn—announced the next Omega candidate. The petite blonde Omega stepped through the curtains and disappeared from view, making it impossible for me to see her entrance.
All I could do was hear the excited male murmurs in the crowd.
Alphas, I thought, swallowing.Alphas from various V-Clan sectors.
As well as a few other regions, too.
Like X-Clan Alphas.
And even one Z-Clan Alpha.
I shivered, that last realization causing my stomach to clench. Z-Clan Alphas weren’t known for their kindness, especially where Omegas were concerned.
As a general rule, V-Clan wolves didn’t typically socialize with other shifters or supernatural beings. We actually tended to keep our existence a secret, allowing the world to believe we’d all perished during the Infected Era.
However, there were a handful of supernaturals out there whom King Kieran had befriended throughout the centuries, and many of those allies were in attendance tonight.
Fortunately, that didn’t necessarily mean they would be participating in the Eligible Omega Mates program. But they could apply to join.
A mating program,I mused, still struggling to believe it was actually happening.
When Quinn had told me about the soon-to-be established protocol, I’d been stunned. Primarily because her reveal had been accompanied by an unexpected explanation.
“For over a thousand years, my family has maintained an Omega Sanctuary out in the middle of the Arctic,” she’d told me, not bothering to dance around the truth.
My eyebrows had shot upward, surprised by the information. “An Omega Sanctuary?” I’d never heard of such a thing. Omegas were typically protected by Alphas.
At least in the V-Clan world.
The X-Clan and Z-Clan sectors were entirely different, as were a myriad of other shifters and supernatural realms throughout the globe.
Quinn had nodded, confirming I’d heard her right. “A sanctuary for all types of Omegas. My parents were killedbecause a sadistic Alpha was trying to seek the location of it. And I’d thought it was an Alpha Prince…”
She’d trailed off, the rest of her explanation hanging between us. “That’s why you ran from Kieran.”
